location , location
had engine light on yesterday and limp mode , had the AA out today , plugged in and fuel pressure regulator valve fault , same as vag com told me so good start.

well basicaly my engine cover was loose and has snapped the top off my fuel regulator valve ! and there are 3 broken engine cover mounting points and f***ed rubbers !

so off to avis to see what car i have til its repaired , my car is being recovered on tuesday and taken to the dealers.

what a bloody poor design !
i am goint to speak to them and ask them to put in writing if i change to a cai or different air intake that it wont invalidate my warranty , its getting to be a joke tbh.

Exact same thign happened to Owen mate. You are best to take it off, but then you run the risk of the dealer attributing any problems to non standard parts. You cant win.

The garage must have been the last one to touch the car unless you have added an uprated panel filter? Take it back and have them fix it.

a lad from round my area had this happen to his car 6 times, and he said on the 6th visit the garage and seat uk decided to no longer fix it under warranty, and void his warranty because apparently he had been driving his car too hard

:ban:

Mines popped off a few times, had to replace the rubber mounts twice. It keeps pushing forwards and pulling the dipstick out, sprays oil everywhere!

jkm noticed that one of my engine cover locations had broken off , also my oil filling car has broken in half again , second time this has happened [:@]

I took it on for a full service (which includes the haldex oil and filter) and I had the car back 2 weeks and was getting coilovers fitted and I just happened to look at the haldex filter.... Low and behold it hadn't been changed but looked as if someone had attacked it with a hammer. So I went into the dealer and got them to put it up on the ramps and showed them. The "master tech" said "Oh yeah, we tried to get it off but it wouldn't budge so we left it". I asked why they hadn't used the haldex filter removal tool that surell ALL VW dealers would have and I was met with a blank look. And to top it all off they'd charged me for the job as well...... :censored:

I had my S3 serviced at an independent VAG specialist, when I collected it, I checked to see if the Haldex oil and filter had been changed - was met with the response "What's Haldex" - needless to say I haven't been back there since :)

There's a horrible sinking feeling you get when you realise that you've just let these monkeys loose on your pride and joy......

well you should see the state of my engine cover , the scratches on it and the auxilary hose has cuts in it but not so that it leaks.
no care or attention is given by the dealers oh and the AA guy pointed out there is a bolt missing from my dump valve :(

i have had 2 under bonett deadening sheets cause they keep going mouldy , this is my second engine cover , second cylinder head , second full exhaust , second injectors , second maf , will be second fuel pump valve , list goes on and on , i have done 11,000 miles of hell , and the car still missfires , vag com logged 38 on tickiver over 2 mins.
