What I expected to be honest after seeing the new FR. I prefer the old shape though with the down turned front grill, makes it looks more aggressive than the new design IMO. Like above, I'm glad it's not a drastic change anyway re: residuals. I'll stick with my std. xenons over turning foglights ;)

Like Z states above. Leaves the door open for something much more in your face should SEAT decide to make the rumoured R version a reality. [B)]

Looks ok. When is the Cupra R likely to be released then?

Simply a rumour at the moment, but if they do produce one then I expect it to be a last hurrah to the Mk2 range, so sometime during 2010 to tide people over.

A Mk3 Leon is expected in 2011 according to their product roadmap, but a wouldn't expect a Mk3 Cupra version until 2012 at the earliest.

So a Mk2 Cupra R scheduled during 2010 may give SEAT something to fill a void with.

I like it, and I like the seats. Whether I would actually have leather is another thing.

R version in 2010, you say  Timing would be good for me... although "We'll never make another R" springs to mind.

Any detail of the engine Mark? TSI denotes a different engine, or have they just rebadged the old one?

It would be interesting if the Cupra becomes the first VAG car to have the new design engine with a K04 turbo.

Good things is it'll drive down the prices of the older MK2 Cupras to make them even more affordable for the likes of me. :funk:

Which is why now is a good time for those of us with them to get rid pronto :)

I like the interior and the 3 slats on the front, but apart from that its a bit of a let down

There must be a R coming?

Same engine from what I can tell at this early point. As it's really a preview ahead of the motorshow in 2-3 weeks time, details are few and far between.

They have called it the Leon Cupra TSI for sometime even though we know it's a TFSI engine.

At least it'll now be harder for people to make their FR's look like Cupras...that said, ive ordered some power-tools to start carving up my bumper!

There must be a newer Cupra on its way, or at least a revamped version. Someone mentioned on another posting, that the new model may be called the Cupra K2 which would replace the K1, and also mean SEAT can claim they have still not replaced the Mk1 Leon Cupra R

Time will tell.

When I was handed the official press pack for the Leon Cupra back in Feb 2007, it didn't say they would never use the R brand again. It simply expressed they had no specific plans to revitalise it at the current time.

Glad I got the k1 for sure now. Do want the facelift seats, steering wheel and gear knob though!

I love the seat's in leather, look's really nice. I'd like them in my car. The slot's in the front bumper don't look too bad. I don't like the wheels though. Other than that. I'm still more than happy with my 07 plated car.

They are exactly the same seats as we have, just trimmed out in leather. An interior specialist would be able to reproduce them if folks wanted some. :)

I actually prefer the new wheels to the older wheels, I didn't think they were as striking on the Cupra as they could of been. But then i'm running around on 19" BBS rims these days so I don't care too much. :D

Yer, the retrim Arnold Clark had done for their car looked really good to me in the picture's. Might get mine retrimmed, be good if heated seats could be retro'd in too.

The diamond pattern looks good too (for me anyhow)

I like the std wheels, however I would of prefered a brighter finish. (Oh and wheel nut covers that actually stay on lol)
