Hey folks,

I can get a Revo stage 2 remap as part of a trade at the moment, and I wondered if it is going to be dangerous to the car as such, in any way, as I do not have EVERYTHING listed for a stage 2 map...

Currently I have;

Scorpion Cat back / Forge TIP / 007P / Jetex

I have already ordered a Forge FMIC, so thats due anytime now.

Also, I can get a 4 Bar FPR no problem.

I haven't got a turbo back exhaust, so in terms of problems, is that a major one? Or will it just run simply a bit like the Revo stage 1 map?

In any case will this be SLOWER than having a stage 1 revo on my car?

I know it's designed for the mods, but the main thing i'd imagine would be the FPR as it would be running lean otherwise.

Many thanks,

Sean

i dont think the cat and dp will be a problem i ran a 03s with standard cat dp and it still made the power, people will argue otherwise tho saying bigger is better ect but thats my thoughts.

id deffo run the 4bar tho if thats what it states to use but dp id forget it doubt it will make much if any difference

You cud run without the DP - but wud have more power with the DP. Wud run fine without...

Ive got my K03s, Mani, DP, TIP, revo stg 2, with standard ic at the mo !! OOpps !

Used to have uni fmic but am swopping over to Forge fmic

not saying there wouldnt be an improvement but for the little improvement there is to have compared to the cost i dont think its worth it, if hes rolling in cash go for it if you feel its worth it.

but his question was would i get away with not having one, imo he would get away with it ad i wont effect the car much.

Turboboy, do you think the k03s is that much different from a k03?

It will make a difference, you can run stage 2 if you wanted, but you can drive your car with your feet but doesnt make it a good idea.

With a standard downpipe running stage 2 your turbo will have to work harder and will get hotter in turn will send your AIT's up, which will increase the timing pull, which will make you run lower settings which will make you lose power. Need i go on?

You can run it, but you'll have to run lower settings.

yes you do need a TBE.... the stock downpipe is a MASSIVE restriction, stage2 has been developed for a TBE so running with a stock D/P will mean high EGTs ect.

there is no gain to be had running stage2 with the stock D/P!

One of the boys ran stage 2 for a while and when we logged it you could see how much it was pulling back. Since then he could max out the settings easily.

Hi guys, appreciate your helpful replies as always.

Basically, this has kinda come up, I hadn't neccasarily planned to go stage 2 so early, but this would allow me to accelerate the process a bit more.

A full TB exhaust is planned but maybe in a month or two's time, unless I can get one second hand.

So in summary, with my CURRENT mods, running revo 2 will basically not gain anything over Revo 1 until I sort out a TBE/DP.

Or... It will run better temporarily but very quickly get hot thus revert back to stage 1 equivelent...

I just didn't want to break anything if I was running it for a month or two before the full recommended mod list for stage 2.

In a word.....no. You will not gain anything,

get your exhaust first then get software, a TBE is a MUST for stage2 software

Is stock CAT ok or would that need replacing as well? For example if I was thinking if I just replaced the downpipe but left the stock CAT on? Or is that pointless?

I have a Scorpion cat-back, and to my knowledge there isn't anything that will fit that TB, so i'd have to replace the whole system, or go;

New DP - stock cat - Scorpion

This was soming i thought about with my car before as a stage two ecu poped up for a good price...

but only being on a k03 and having the standard d/p i decided stage 1 first then get the setup for stage 2 be better for the car in the long run...

REVO CARL im planing on getting stage 1 in a about a month would it be possible to map out the second lanbda sensor at the same time because im wanting to go de-cat for track use and dont want any problems with any eml's..??

DP has the cat as part of it, and if your scorpian is the same diameter as the downpipe then it will fit.

If you've been offered stage 2 then id go for it and run lower settings. Its not that much more agressive than stage 1, in fact the peak boost is actually lower than peak boost on stage 1, it just is more agressive with the timing and requests more boost further up the rev range according to my logs.

dont see the point in trying to use to stock cat tbh

there is a uni sports/race cat on ebay think its 200 cel its only £99 was thinking about this myself...geting a de-cat then maybe getting a place to put the cat in there then you got a d/p and sports cat for only £300 odd

stock cat is a restriction.... a good exhaust place will be able to make a d/p and cat fit your current cat back
