still beep-tastic
tookout battery tray to find nice clean cable with minimal surface rust on the terminals,cleaned and greased them but no change,next was under scuttle panel,no change.
Then to fix washer pipe in boot(2 zip ties..simple but fiddly with sausage fingers

am moving on to the interior,namely the steering column shroud as there are apparantly a few earths there.will probably do the door seals while im down there

Nightmare isn't it, imagine if you could wire in your own switch for the sidelights so then you could switch them off but leave the original knob switch on

Im sure its possible,however,my grasp of auto electrics is basic at best and i would hate to come back and find a sparking pile of metal where my car used to be...

And now for the simple way to fix the dashboard problem,Simply leave the car parked up on your drive and bugger off to Wales in an A3, wait 4 days and return to find strangely quiet car without a flat battery. (please note this method will only work if you need to go to Wales..................and have an A3.

hi, anyone sorted thiers yet, mine still with the same fault, tried all of the above, just want it to go now cos want rid of the car now, mine did go away but has been back now for over a week non stop!
As said in the thread, make sure your earth isn't corroded. The main one to the battery and then the one for the dash itself. Does it do it all the time or just when the key is removed?
Mine is flickering at times but only with the key removed, i suspect the ignition switch might have a loose connection on mine, but haven't had time to check yet. I'll update this thread when i've had chance to have a look.

it does it when engine is turned off,when locked. sometimes it's fine but when it's flashing I turn it on and the oil light yellow & sometimes red the brake light will flash boot light will flash it's like it's a different one every time and yet when it's not going mad it's fine it seems the more I drive it the better it is. Just had a couple off work so been driving it more and it's been fine .i changed the oil and filter on Saturday got new plugs to go in today. I will check the earths today aswell. Hope I find something coz it's getting annoying.
