I need to get 2 front new tyres on my sportrider diseal. Just wondering if any of you have got the P Zero Nero's on yours cars and what there like? Also is 70 each fitted reasonable?

p-zeros are rubbish as steve has just said. Get toyo t1-r's or toyo proxo 4's...both cheaper than p-zero's and a lot better. Look on black circles for good deals. Of course there are other tyres...Falkens, Yokohama parada etc.....

I always used Hankook Ventus Sport K104's and they were very good! but they've been superceded now and the tread pattern has totally changed so I'm not sure how good they are, I had Eagle F1's last time and they were good too, but wore quite quickly.
I've just bought Toyo Proxes but I've made a stupid error.
I purchased 2 x 205/40/16 instead of the 205/45's!!
Does anyone know if they'll still fit? Will it make a big difference? Got them from camskill so don't know if they'll replace them
they are just lower profile so they should still fit.
are they fitted? if not they you should be able to return them
I wont touch Pzeros, they are rubish in the wet - to the extent they are almost dangerous IMO. I have always rated michelin as good, but expensive. i currently have eagle F!s on the rear and they are fantastic (had them on the front for a few thousnd miles), very grippy in the wet and dry, and seem to have a good wear rate. Quiet too. I now have bridgestone turnanza ER30 on the front (there was a new one on the spare when I got the car, so only needed to buy one). They arnt a tyre I would go for normaly, but they are wearing realy well (10K and on 5-6mm) are quiet and grip surprisingly well even in the wet. I have heard that toyo proxies are good, I think thats what I will try next.

If you want the best..Pirelli RainSport 2.
I had T1R's before, and the Rainsports are loads better, more grippy in all conditions. And even on a cold day they feel soft before you drive anywhere.

the physical difference is minimal realistically...but yes, you should get a tad more grip and shouldn't rub (as i'm going to move up as well)
I've ordered two Goodyear Eagle F1s for the front of ours. No idea on wear expectancy, but hoping they'll be fine. The load rating is correct at least, so we'll see. £98 each all in which seemed about right.
Only replacing because one of the original Bridgestone Turanzas has a massive hole in it caused by a chunk of glass. Inside edges on both fronts are very worn, but rest of tread not bad after 4 years and nearly 30k miles.

my p-zero's look only just over half worn and they've run nearly 13k now...with one swap (fronts to back and vice-versa)
i think if you're getting less than 10k from a set of tyres you can't be driving with the right tyre pressures or you like wheel-spinning

Having used most brands of tyres over the last 97k on my tdi 130 ibiza i believe i have found the best tyre for the mk4 ibiza. The Uniroyal rainsport 2! This tyre has unbelievable wet grip ( ask the Swiss Ford gt driver i followed around a very wet and slippery nurburgring a couple of weeks ago before he threw the towel in after a bit of a moment going up Exmulle) and also are the only tyres i've used that dont roll onto the side walls wearing all the writing off the side of the tyre (stiff side walls =good) dry performance and wear rate also very good . Just check out the official EVO tyre reviews.

Accelera Alpha and Scudo Stunner
I picked up my FR TDi a few weeks back but it does seem to have an issue with grip on the front end (even with the current weather) I checked the tyres this morning and i noticed that it has 2 weird (and no doubt cheap) makes on it.
The front drivers side has something called Accelera Alpha XL with about 8mm on (so obviously something the dealer put on before i took delivery) and the front passenger has a "Scudo Stunner XL" with about 4mm. The back still has the original Pirelli PZero Nero XL's
How bad are these tyres??
Do i really need the xtra load tyres? I have a budget of about £100 a tyre.
