Hurdy, does the GIAC DSG software alos intervene in the upshift/downshift restrictions? As in, when you're in manual mode, does it upshift when you reach the limiter or does it keep the same gear?

The upshift in manual is manual to a degree. The ECU allows you to hit the rev limiter 3 times or for a prolonged time (only about a second!). It will then intervene and push you up to the next gear. It is a bit like hitting the rev limiter in a manual and then realising you NEED the next gear, but in this instance the box will do it. It will allow you to be well above where you were before with the rpm as well as the gearchange is now at 7250rpm.

Also when rpm are too low it will shift down, so you don't have to manually go to first gears at redlights

Thanks for the replies guys. I found a couple of threads in other fora, explaining exactly what the GIAC software does.
