• Hi Guest There will be essential maintenance on the server on Monday 10th November from 5am meaning the website will be offline for a period of time. We will do everything to ensure the downtime is kept to a minimum.
Yes it does, your results arent very good at showing the difference due to the variables of the skill of the driver on the day and grip of tires due to standing starts.

Me, h8t w8p and a sean have had a few plays now from rolling, them both being mapped and me standard and they left me for dead. The difference is massive, it really really is, they went past me as if I wasnt trying.

The clips above would suggest otherwise lad. I have also seen how a remap alone car fares with a stage 2+ car, and on the road, there is not a huge difference until higher speeds are reached.

You have gone from standard to mapped back to standard before havent you? That in itself shows how much difference the map makes.

But honestly, from 3rd gear onwards the mapped cupras left me for dead.

I can put mine back to standard on the move - believe me the difference is very noticeable - in standard trim the car feels asthmatic in comparison.

I have been in and driven Owens car who has the same set up as you. The best thing about his code is the valet mode which results in 40+mpg with ease! Its really cool how the car can be changed on the move, i have to say! Add that to the ability to go in to 360bhp mode within the blink of an eye, and you have a really nice product!

For what its worth, there is virtually no difference between Revo Stage 2+ and GIAC Stage 2+ from what I have seen and experienced. All things considered, the GIAC multicode option is really nice :)

Well judging by the RR day i was at on Saturday it was around 35bhp;)

Any details?

Out of interest, regarding the rolling road figues, could it just be the case that most dynos have been configured to estimate the losses incorrectly?

For example, my LCR got 234bhp stock, and 281bhp after a remap (which I found hard to believe), so I assume it over compensates the losses for the flywheel figures.

Can I ask what wheel figures you're getting for the Mk2 Cupra, to go with the flywheel figures?

Cheers,
Rob.

Rob is just running a KMD pump and Milltek TBE though isnt he? No intercooler or intake upgrade? Not sure I would be running Stage 2+ with only those mods.

What was your wheel hp figure?

After speaking to Rob on Saturday he's running stage 2 Revo without a intake upgrade or intercooler changes as you've mentioned above.

Cheers

You can run revo stage2+ with just the uprated pump i'm sure i heard revo carl say once! Just can't have the settings turned up full chat! (You might also need the zorst! Can't remember exactly!!!)

EDIT: May have misread your post! It seems you may already know that!

235bhp @ the wheels as below for a standard Cupra:-

It puzzles me why people would run stage 2+ without all the hardware required though especially when the likes of Revo is adjustable.

For example, if a fuel pump is added, fuelling can be increased (lower number on Revo settings).

At the end of the day, its all well and good claiming to be at "Stage 2+", but really, you are not at that level without all the bits to go with it. The figure 317bhp figure is 4bhp lower than another Cupra up this way was at with Revo Stage 1, Milltek and Carbonio.

I was only winding you up djhorace:D. Its just that whenver i go up against "other" tuning companies products i come away with a significant advantage, ie, even if everyone is down on the day " dyno lottery" and all, i still make 30bhp or so more than others.I don,t have an intercooler by the way.

Here,s my map from saturday

Not too bad mate especially if you still have OEM intercooler. I guess one give away of that is the way the torque drops quicker than print offs i have seen from cars with an uprated intercooler.

On mine, the cross over point for power and torque is about 1000rpm higher using that same scaling.

Thinking about an S3 intercooler upgade but still don,t understand exactly what advantge its going to give me, considering that its used purely as a road car

15% estimated loss then. Seems quite likely doesn't it - not bad from stock car.

The way that engines are usually rated, is the quote flywheel figure is the average (not sure if it's mean or median) based on allowed tolerances, so for all you guys getting better figures there must be others getting lower figures?

Unless VAG are different to everyone else and decided to quote the lowest allowed output...
