Decided after years of having corsas that fail on me that i would purchase a new car, and it shall be an ibiza!

Going to be getting the 1.4 Sport in lumina orange with, 17" alloys, folding mirrors and ESP. I didnt really want th ESP but they seem to be at a price i'm happy with so instead of actually custom building one i will propably be buying this as it is due in the showroom in the coming weeks.

So far i have managed to get the car that retails at about £12,100 to £10,200 with scrappage (and finance extra on top).
Do people think thats a fair price or theres still abit of movement there yet??

Also does anyone have an orange ibiza on here as i havent really seen many pictures apart from a couple knocking around google.

Mark :)

Ah well if you get ESP then you will get rear disc brakes instead of old style drum ones - easier to keep clean, my daughter left out the ESP option to save money. I see that with 17" alloys you do get a 16" steel spare wheel, that is better than what I think that Seat's site claimed - ie a "foam pack and compressor".

I can't comment on the colour though, she chose the "new black", ie Candy White!

I told them TBH i wasnt really wanting the ESP and said its alot at £274 so the bit i did on finance he just said take £274 off it... :) Like it better now u say its discs at back lol!

I don't know why but im just not keen on white but yes it certainly is the new black lol!

i dont know if you will get a better deal as they have the car coming in they will want a premium for it as a lot of people are waiting for theres.
when i got mine (red 1.6 sport on scrappage)i got free 17s, free suprgaurd(i know people dont like it but i do), 3/4 of a tank of fuel, mats (offerd flaps but didnt want them) free first service, and i paid for the convience pack. came 2 £10115. and i waited 3 months before i got it.
hope that gives you an idea of what you can get on scrappage as one dealer i spoke to wouldnt give me anything off the list, and another offered mats asthough he was doing he a grate faver.

Hey Stu,

The thing is i have said to them i'm not fussed at the end of the day even if i did have to have my own custom one made but they seem eager for me to have this one (propably as i said i have been in touch with JCT600 and they have an orange one coming in before them). Well i know its that because they even told me at the end of the day they dont want me going there... They tried to sign me up to it on if viewing it and i like it then its mine, but i said no.

How much was full RRP of your spec?

End of day i may say to them i wont go to JCT and i want it, but i will say to for them to have a yes from me i want them to do a little bit extra! You can only try eh!

I will be asking for all the usuals as u said before, full tank, first service free, mats, etc etc etc!

This is my first new car buy and i'm wuite enjoying the haggling side of it all haha. :funk:

And you get the hill hold function with ESP, its really good :)

Hi

I haven't got ESP on my sc sport as an option and I've still got ventilated disc brakes on the rear. I don't think it's an extra with having ESP. Seems to me to be a standard item on ibiza mk5's. I maybe wrong though!

Overall, it seems like a good price for what your getting. I paid similar for a metallic finish and 17" alloys. Different engine though.

Cheers

i think the disks come as standard on the 1.6 and the old 1.9 but the 1.4 cars dont have them unless it has esp. at least that is my understanding

Vat going back up... I think it should stay at 15% lol we aint out of the crap in the UK :|

Thanks for everyones replies can't wait to get it :D

I think it may be worth making a few phone calls to get the best price on the spec that you really want. Stukillen got a really good deal, so there is room for a good deal, problem is they know you want the car and its difficult to walk away.Although there is a long wait for personal spec cars I think its worth it, that said you must take advantage of the scrappage and the impending vat increase. My local 2 dealers would not give me a penny off retail of £13070 less scrappage £11070 for the car I wanted, they may put some petrol in come the day. Under a bit of pressure to get it ordered I paid a deposit of £300. When I got home I phoned a couple of dealers 30 miles away, one said they would knock the £70 off and put some petrol in, the other would knock £270 off -- £10800 to pay. I contacted my local dealer who after a bit of chit chat with the top dogs agreed to match the price. I had not signed any documents but feared I may loose my deposit if I cancelled. Got the long wait now.

If you can get to NW London without too much hassle (I live in Sheffield) then give SeatCarsDirect //M1 Autos a call, they sorted me out with a deal that no other dealer would (or could) even try and match

I'm pretty sure you actually cant get the Ibiza in Orange as when I was originally ordering mine I asked about the orange but it was only for the Leon's. That may of changed now but that's how it was in July when I ordered mine.

Thanks for replies.

As i said earlier i have told the garage that at the end of the day i'm in no rush (i am now thought as for the VAT and tbh have come round to the idea of having one in a couple of weeks instead of moths), but they don't need to know that! And because i have told them i will be checking out the orange one JCT are getting in, this has panicked them aswell as they are well aware that could be a sale lost!

My plan now is to go to JCT tomorrow find out what they are offering if its not any better, i will pop back to the original garage and say that i will not bother even going to JCT (which i actually have done) but in doing so i want a better offer and i will sign on that dotted line!

I suppose i could ring another coupel of places and c what they are offering!

The ibiza is in the book for the cupra, but these 2 garages have a sport due in orange so it seems you can... They best not be telling me B/S lol!

Thanks for advice it all comes in handy!

Fair point the Cupra may be an exception, they defo didnt have it in the sport tho as thats what we initally asked for but were told Ibiza Sports didnt come in Orange but the Leons did.

Thats what the guy at the place said where im most likely buying the car from. But according to form they are definately getting the sport in orange... Just like the jct place. Will have to wait and see!

Hi Mark,

The 1.4 sport is available in Orange & if you check out seat.co.uk's car configurator, the Orange with 17" alloys, ESP & electric folding mirrors list price £12,195.
Dicounts are not normally given in scrappage deals but the dealer might be able to throw you some freebies like car mats & other accessories that are dealer supplied & you could also ask for free servicing for one or two years.

Good luck with your bargaining & keep us updated on your progress.

The lumina orange looks good, there are some pics on Net Car. well worth checking out.

Just thought id mention to you all who are looking to buy new cars seat stopped honouring the 15% VAT on the 31st October so if you take delivery on your car after the 1st of January you most likely will be paying the 17.5% VAT sucks i know just thought id give you the heads up (well whats what my dealer said to me rushing me in on the 31st to get the VAT at 15% guaranteed) but ask your dealer to confirm :)
