Hi guys do know what you mean about the price of the brake upgrade but they really are superb deffo make the car with them on bigger disks at the front and you also get a full size alloy spare wheel so makes the cost a tad better;)

I was looking at the cost of 4-pots to buy new and they are damn expensive. Witht he full size alloy and rear calipers also pained red it makes the package slightly more tempting. I went for them. I have them on my current cupra and wouldn't wanna go back.

Hmmm, didn't realise you got the wheel as well. That makes it more far better VFM.

They do look lovely.

Be really interested to see how they cope with remapping. The DSG gearbox was very nice to drive around town, but it felt so alien out on the country roads I couldn't quite get used to it. Only had the car for about 30 mins.

How are you guys driving it. In full auto, or with the gearknob moved over and using the paddles?

I'm not sure if I understand what you wrote. Are you saying that these disks are bigger,if yes,how much are they bigger then the standard?

Yes they are.

Standard are 288mm, racing brake option is 312mm (same as the Mk4 Cupra).

I priced the brakes and for the calipers and discs it came to £836 retail for the two calipers (which inc pads) and a pair of discs.

Its only the front brakes not the rears too mate. So £830 odd + spare and fitting would work out close to that. They are very expensive but also very nice.

Are they both brembos o just the racing option or non of them?

You really have to pay for every goodie,it should have been standard.

What do you mean by both?

The front are Seat Sport (AP Racing) 4-Pot calipers. The rears are standard with some red paint.

Ah I see what you mean.

No the normal ones are just your run of the mill 2-pots by VW and the Upgrades are the AP Racing 4 Pots.

ah, you see , i thought it was all round 4 pot super stoppy goodness.

does it not look a tad weird having big brakes on the front and smaller ones on the back?
