Thinking about upgrading my LCR to coilovers and wanted to know what else i should replace at the same time, i.e bushes, top mounts etc, don't want to pay 2 lots of labour if i can get everything done in one go.

I've had a read through suspension FAQ but it's 2 years old and the most recent reply never got an answer...

Cheers for the help! :D

Definitely replace the top mounts and top mount bearings, they are not that expensive and will tighten up the ride again. Its not totally necessary but, i found after i fitting mine that i had to go back and retro fit the one of the top mounts, i was not a happy camper, also make sure and use lubrication on them as they can squeak if they get dry.

Its not that hard of a job once you have the right tools and space, i used this guide for mine.

While you've got your wishbones free and you are going to need a 4 wheel alignment anyway, new wishbones bushes and an r32 front arb (about for bar, clamps and bushes from VW) :)

yes!! I did type £90, but my laptop decided not to notice (operator blaming his tools :cartman:)

8n0411305d is the 21mm version

1j0411305af is the 23mm version marked yellow

of the r32 arbs

n10101603 is the bolt
1jo411336d is the clip
1jo411314r is the mountin bush for 19mm
1jo411314t is the mounting bush for 21mm

21mm bush fits 23mm bar (this is the one to go for).

(ripped from Paul's post, thanks:))

£180 sounds about right to me as i think i paid the same at AMD 2 months back. Worth it though i just wish id done the ARB at the same time.

eek indeed would have thought some bushes at no extra cost as theyr apart anyways

how much to fit the suspension in the first place

must really count my blessings as my unlce fitted mine :) i must amit they wernt coilovers mind ,

i just got mine fitted on saturday. i went a bit mad tbh. i got new arms, top strut mounts and bearings, ball joints. changed ma discs and pads also and just had it serviced and its completely transformed the car. would recommend atleast bushes and top strut mounts well worth it:D

What are the best wishbone bushes to use? Powerflex? or OEM?

ARB fitting costs are so great because you have to drop the subframe; it is a bit of a b*gger to fit! I have powerflex in mine; but tt roadster bushes are a good compromise between comfort and handling.

You wont be able to get powerflex wishbone bushes for another month or so due to their fire .
I am having to wait, rang nearly everywhere trying to find remaining stock
