Well Saturday I picked up the C4. Thought I write and tell you all about it.

Left home at silly o'clock in the morning as I stupidly had left my spare key at my mums. It also didn't help that it had snowed over night which meant I had to make my last drive the in Seat a rather slow one. After the long slow drive to Slough I signed the paper work paid the cash and handed over the keys to the Ibiza. I was walked to my new Citroen C4 and I have to be honest I was a little sad to see the Ibiza go but once I saw the C4 that all changed. The C4 is a pretty looking car and so comfortable to drive..

The 150 mile trip home was so effortless. For a 1.6 HDI engine it is rather poky and at motorway speeds has a lower RPM than the Ibiza. I was a bit worried when trying to move from the middle to the fast lane of the M25 as I didn't think the power was there but a pull on the flappy paddle and a down shift later it easily picked up speed to handle life in the fast lane. This was a BIG worry of mine as over taking power for lorries is something that not many people take in to account.

The steering wheel has everything you need on it cruise control is a blessing I don't know how I ever managed life with out it and the EGS system although not as refined as the DSG it is a rather impressive bit of kit. After about 10 miles I had the gear changes down to a tea. The auto mode again just effortless and will make my city driving to work something to enjoy again. And with the added features of Auto Dimming Rear Mirror. Auto Wipers and Auto Lights just make life so easy. Also as of April tax drops to £30 for the year which is just stupidly low. Along with the misses Ayro we can tax both cars for a year and go out on the town for for the night on the change lol

all in all 100% happy with the C4 :)

Best of luck mate. Wouldnt keep it past the end of the warranty though.

why???

unless im very much mistaken my seat broke down on me 3 times on an 06 plate. my dads 20 years of only ever driving french diesels have only ever broken down once.

so unless you know know something that everyone else doesnt know like the engine will go bang at 56,789 miles i dont understand the comment

Clutches on the egs box have been going with less than 25k on the clock, interior falling apart, expensive exhaust replacement, problems with the electronic dash lights etc.

The C4 sounds great, hope you enjoy the extra comfort :D

I do a 6 mile drive to work in my FR TDi and the temp needle hardly moves. Recon i am getting 40-44 mpg at the mo which is still not too bad. my 1.4 POLO would drop below 30mpg in the ice.

Good luck with the car buddy :funk:

thanks for teh heads up.. ill keep an eye on it. interior cant fall apart any more than the ibiza. that thing rattled more than a meracas especially after lowering it.

i can understand the clutch comment but i would guess that would be from people not driving it correctly.

thanks again

They are replacing them under warranty, due to the fact its very hard not to drive it correctly if you know what i mean. Not like you can ride the clutch, or dump it from the lights.
