Hey guys,

First post so hi btw :)

Im gonna be ordering a new Ibiza in the next two weeks under scrappage! And im hoping to get a fairly good deal. As I said, its gonna be the 1.6 Tdi Sport. But Im looking to get some options added too.

Stuff I definitely want to get: ESP pack, Convenience pack and 17" alloys.

Stuff Im tempted by: Cruise control and Climate control.

Firstly what are your thoughts on the options? Any one got any they love/hate?

Also if im ordering all these extras, surely the guys gonna be happy to chuck in mettalic paint, right?! Anyone else got any experiance from ordering scrappage?

Im also gonna be ordering it from Bristol Seat, are there any better dealers for getting a good deal I should be looking at?

Cheers in advance guys :)

Don't want to burst your bubble mate, but I think you need to move quickly for a scrappage deal as the government money is starting to run out (I think...?). Bear in mind that lots of options might mean a new factory order, which could push your delivery date back too far for scrappage.

Having said that, 17" alloys help massively with the look of the car, ESP's always a good idea, and Convenience pack is good too! Folding mirrors sound like they would be part of the Conv pack but they're seperate at £50. Climate's good for me as the whole dash looks a load more modern with it fitted. Cruise I wouldn't bother with unless you're doing a few hours motorway every day...

Good luck with the order! ;-)

Yer I know about the ending of the scrappage this month! I think they'll be enough money to last for another couple of weeks though :) Hope so anyway!

Yer, that was my worry about adding options, it needs to be delivered within 120days of ordering the car! But I want it delivered june anyway, hence why holding off on the order. But hopefully they will have time to put the options on!

Folding mirrors isnt part of the convenience pack.. although I think it should be! 17" dont make the ride too harsh or loud do they? I know other people have asked but as you say, they look a lot better!

I love having cruise control on my current car, but it is a nice to have not must have. And I have heard a few people saying cruise control would delay order, so if that was the case I wouldnt bother with it.

I really hope the money doesnt run out! got me worried now. Need to get the scrapper sorted ASAP!

Cheers for the response buddy :)

hi mate, i got the climate control and i would say its a must because it just looks the part =]

the 17" alloys with the low profile tyres are quite loud and the ride isnt the best due to them, but i dont think its really that bad, the 17" are there for show not comfort, i have seen a ibiza with 16" parked next to mine and IMHO it ruins the sporty look the car has. i would definitely get the folding wing mirrors aswell, i wish i had noticed this option when ordering my car im always folding my wing mirrors in by hand =]

i used the scrappage scheme and it makes your car a priority build so you should get it sooner, if you order your car and put you car down as scrappage deposit it wont matter when the ibiza comes because they have agreed to take it as scrappage

Thats interesting, I didnt know that! Well, glad it would get priority build! As I say, im looking to order it in the next couple of weeks :)

I definitely want the 17", they do look a lot nicer! And the climate control I want more for the looks as well, the analogue dials dont look as good IMO. But hey, still works!

Im not too bothered about the folding mirrors TBH, if I had loads of money I would get them, but dont think ill miss them :)

Quick random question too, what are the backlit colours on the ibiza dash and all the buttons? I really lke the blue and red my golf has atm, but just wanted to know about the ibiza. Also, does it not have a engine/outside temp gauge? read something somewhere but not sure...

Cheers for the responses everyone :)

Thanks for the pictures :) cant see them atm as im at work, but ill have a look when i get home :) bet they look good though! :) I like having the red needle on the dials, so thats a bonus :) unless im thinking of a different set of dials!

Hmm, dont really like not having a temp gauge. Know its not important but lets me know when I can get sporty! :p

why not go for an FR tdi, much better engine and more kit too.

Id love to mate, but I cant justify the extra £2000 :( take up the payments by quite a bit. My other half would not be happy paying the extra, although I would love to get one!

I'd say definteily put up the extra £50 for the folding mirrors, yes, it could be seen as a frivolous extra, but
a) when you're spending that much money on a new car, £50 is nothing really, and
b) i went for them and really couldn't imagine having to fold my mirros in everytime. I have to park on the street though, if you've got your own drive i'd imagine it's less of an issue.. but
c) for £50 they really are bloody cool. everyone who's been in my car has been impressed with them, it's the simple things in life!

Hmm, maybe I should get them then. Everyone has been recommending them. I do live on a street but I never fold my mirrors in!

Does anyone know if I could retro fit cruise control? And if so how much is it gonna cost after?

Cheers, JC

Apparently scrappage has been extended until the end of March, also you new car will have to be delivered and invoiced at least 120 days after you order it in order for the dealer to claim their scrappage allowance (but that is not really your concern, it's the dealerships). As long as they have taken your order and done the correct paperwork your scrappage allowance should be guaranteed.
As for options: ESP is standard on all cars with 100+PS, Cruise control is not something I would go for but it is good if you do a lot of motorway miles, the climate control (as said earlier in this thread) does look much nicer than the standard air-con, convenience pack is very handy, the bluetooth kit on the MkV Ibiza is not the best (not intuitive to use) and the option I would def go for is CUP (Combined USB Port) allowing you to plug a USB memory stick into the radio (a must have in my opinion, unlesss you want your dealer to fit a Dension Gateway iPod adapter).
Hope you get the car you want !

Thanks for the reply :) yer I heard today that the scrappage might be extended to the end of march, which would make a lot of sense! Yer, it is the dealers concern so as long as its ok with them then June delivery I hope :)

I dont think ESP is standard on cars over 100ps... its the XDS thats standard if u order esp on cars over 100ps am I right?

Yer, cruise control is a nice to have and dont think im going to be getting it now :( but maybe Ill be able to retrofit :) definitely climate control! looks the part and will be nice to have.

Got an aux in which is enough for me :)

got a good deal at the moment, £12750 with ESP pack, Convenience pack, 17" wheels, Climate control, Cruise control and metallic black with a full tank of diesel! As I say tho, might not be getting the Cruise so will be £12600 :) good deal I feel though! Hopefully ordering monday :)

would have cruise control over climate control any day have both on my leon, if I had to get rid of one it would be the climate control, cruise control saved me getting a few speeding tickets and thats city driving, just a matter of choise
