There was a 280bhp version of the V6 available in Switzerland. 
It was called the León Cupra 4 Kompressor.

In Switzerland, there was another official version tuned by Abt Sportsline of the León called "SEAT León Cupra 4 Kompressor". This version had the same 4WD and 2.8 litre VR6 but with 206 kilowatts (280 PS; 276 bhp) and 323 newton metres (238 ft·lbf) of torque.

You're right but 276bhp is quite high, more than an R32 anyway and it has 400cc less. There's a lack of info on the web about it so I have no idea what tweeks were made.
Leave the wheel, go for that 'cool' Euro DUB thing

Just found normal V6 an 02 in Germany for 12,000 euro's=£10,500 60,000 km seems a bit steep to me.
Kompressor does imply a mechanically-driven supercharger, in VW's case usually the G-lader scroll supercharger. This thing had a particular name, attached by VW, when I first heard about it many years ago on the Scirocco - which I have to say looked incredibly desirable. Can't remember what they called it now though.

Scott, I looked into this and I decided the 1.8T was discontinued in 2002. I couldn't find a later LHD when I looked all over the continent.
