alex's red leon fr tdi with porka brake upgrade

hi

well after looking at many leon fr and fr+ i finally found the car i wanted except i had no pictures and could only go on what the dealer had told me about the car.
and that was its a red fr and its only covered 20k from new with full dealer service history and came with seats approved label meaning that it had 1yrs wanrrenty etc etc.
so they arranged to have the car brought down from the dealer up north.

long story short now the car arrived and looked perfect in everyway and also had some extra's the dealer hadn't said but i had planned to have fitted anyway. these where
cupra r splitter fitted
tinted rear window's
fab rear wiper
all badges removed
drivers arm rest
and cruise control
now my old ride was a mini one that had been very played with so now the for the leon
what shall i head for people?
planning to pick up a cupra r frontbumper in the morning so the current one is up for grabs if people are intersted?
also thinking bout cupra r 225rims so again the fr wheeels are up for grabs

my next plan is to get the leon back down closer to the ground with some coilovers how low can you go before people run into issues?? love to see some pic's of lowered leons

oh also wanted to ask will the cupra r 225 steering wheel fit onto my car? and will my steering wheel air bag fit into the cupra r 235 steering wheel? as its had the air bag go off

does anyone have a sound clip of a mufflerectomy from inside the car? wondered hoe loud it was?

yer they were geniune bbs splits dealer fit only item on the mini one of my best bit i had on that.


as for tuning the seat think it will happen but at present will leave it as is plus have another car tucked up in garage for weekend fun

this is my first love had this car since i was 15 and have carried out full resto job on it taking me 5years and too much cash but all worth it.
currently runs the quarter mile in 13.8 at the pod. not bad for an old beetle hey


collected my bumper today and have started to strip it ready for painting whilst also working on a car i'm painting for my dad.
also got the steering wheel very good condition and have given it some leather love tonight so hoping it fit it tomorrow

Hello mate im trying to get in touch with you about your bumper you have for sale but it wont let me post a reply in the for sale section??just wondering if you would take around £100 for it and also i would need to sort out a courier for it if thats ok with you?

well thought it was about time i updated my thread as i'd not touched it since the day after i brought the car.

it now covered over 26k and hasn't missed a beat (touch wood)

since owning the car i have done the following
Paint and fitted cupra r front bumper and all new grills and splitter
had brought a mint cupra r steering wheel from a crash damaged car but where the air bag had gone off it had bent the steering wheel
fitted silver indercator bulbs front and rear
fitted alpine head unit with i pod connector (in the glove box)
fitted sub and amp in the boot
and i've just brought a set of porsche twist reps (18inch) that were in desperate need of a re-furb which i have carried out and went on the car today. i have brought centre caps but waiting for them to turn up.
the car now is much need of a lowering job which i'm hoping will get done in next couple of months

i also had to repaint the passenger door just two weeks after having the car as someone kindly keyed it for me


i have also been busy and brought another aircooled bug that i'm currently rebuilding to then sell on for a small profit aswell as showing my other bug and collecting the odd award for and in the next week or so i shall be at the pod in it for abit of rwyb action.

i was hoping to put some pic's up but my work computer won't let me upload them so will have to sav that till tomorrow

what other area's do you think i should be looking at???

This is just me bout I would do the following to it

Aero Wipers
Remap
Downpipe
Panel filter
Coilovers
New anti roll bars

and maybe a set of HIDs

ah had forgot bout hids i've already fitted them a 6k set and came with KN panel filter.

what exhaust would people suggest to go for? i want something that makes abit of noise but not too much really

right guess its time for an update

coilovers (AP coilovers) now fitted ran it at first on lowest setting but after it settled and bounced the under tray on the motorway plus was nearly always rubbing on the anti roll bar has been adjusted up abit but still fettling with the ride hight to get it where its nice to drive but still nice and low. does need some spacers on the rear which i shall be doing shortly

front splitter has taken some stick being this low though will need to get myself a new one for the summer

next thing to have been doing to the car is nice small plate front plate and as yet haven't been stopped
i have also just fitted a cupra R 225 steering wheel that i found on ebay believe its from someone off here.
have to say feels so much nice than the standard steering wheel.
I have also had my brother carbon wrap my dash centre and ash tray

so update time again

so i've just had the car for over a year now and just went through its mot with no hassles so all good
so thought i'd treat it to a few more mods

i've just oredered the following milltek down pipe and allard egr delete pipe as well as no mad single pod pillar and a boost gauge and a w8 interior light (with down lighting)
just brought off here a cupra r rear bumper to match front bumper i've just had it painted and will look at fitting it shortly but only once i've got the exhaust booked in as cupra and cupra r rear bumper have slightly different postion for the tail pipes.

i've choosen not to go down the milltek exhaust route and have been in touch with a company locally to me who have said they make me up an custom one off exhaust for the car with what ever tail pipe i like so have been try to decide what to get been thinking about getting a single circular tail pipe (abit like the golf anniversary has) to be a touch different

once all of the above has been fitted the car shall be off to be remapped by power engineering

soon as things start getting fitted i'll post pictures up
any good suggestions on the tail pipe are welcome
