Alpine head unit losing settings

Hi guys, i've got my Alpine CDE 9882ri head unit all fitting and working, but everytime i turn the ignition off i lose all my settings.

Any one know how i sort the problem?

need to swap the red wire for the yellow.(swap ignition power on wire for constant live) or get adapter from radio to car wiring.

Ah right is it that simple. Does that mean i'll then be able to use the headunit with out the ignition being on. Like the standard headunit did.

should do. ive done it a few times before and it worked without ignition, depends on the radio.

alpine wont do that unfortunately

becker or blaupunkt radios can do it from the good brands

You mean alpine head units wont work with the ignition off mate?

yep,unless you wire it solely to do on/off via the radio and no ignition input at all

Alright guy's thanks for the help. Rewired the headunit, swapped the red and yellow wires round and its not saving settings, and working with no ignition. Fitted the USB cable and got it to come into the glove box aswell. Easy job!
