I'm looking to get rid of my PD150 now.

Looked on Parkers Guide but it seems very generous....

£9,255 Franchised Dealer
£8,620 Independant Dealer
£7,675 Private Good
£5,750 Private Bad

£6,490 PX

Anyone else recently sold their PD150 (2005)? What did you get?

ChrisUK has just sold his, I know he had it up for £7500 but have no idea if thats what he sold it for.

I'm in the process of gradually putting mine back to standard and selling it when MOT'd in September. It's FR+, 55 plate with only 36k on the clock in mint nick and wouldn't really like to take less than 7.5 for it

What car you going for next?

We've got baby number 2 arriving anytime so really want something with a bigger boot. Ideally I want to stay VAG too. If I could afford it, it would be an A4 s-line without question, but they are just out of my price range at the moment so i'm seriously looking at an Octavia VRS

What about you mate?

I really want a Corrado VR6.....but they look so ice-age inside.

Whatever it is its got to be Petrol.

MK1 Civic Type-R (hides from SCN)
2004/2005 LCR (waves to SCN)
Goof R32 (not about MPG on these though)

Audi S3 (maybe heard too many bad stories though)

Ideally, an untouched LCR in plat grey or black though, 1 owner, FSH.

Well I can honestly say I'm stunned Chris.

I assume that you're just bored with it and to me that suggests hybrid rather than a change.

Ironically it would be a cheaper solution.

Maybe I'm barking up the wrong tree.

I sold my fr last summer and changed to a lcr, best decision i ever made. I got 6.7k px for it

I'm just missing a high reving petrol. I've looked at jonjays thread and the amount he has spent on it.......for an extra 60HP!! I love how the MK1 Leon looks/drives but it just aint quick enough for me now.

Just looking at your options, CTR, LCR and R32 are hardly a quantum leap in terms of power etc over your FR in hybrid form.

Not trying to talk you out of it in anyway sense or form, just trying to be objective i.e. why the change.

If its all to do with the buzz of VTEC valves bouncing then the FR's gonna loose out.

Could you not run more than one car? Trust me apart from the outlay, costs really aren't too much of an issue (just an extra service/insurance (the Honda's about £200) and the tax). They last longer and hold their value better due to lower mileage which does go someway against the initial cost.

I'm not going to kid you as it isn't cheaper, but it isn't as expensive as you may at first think.

A classic Corrado as a toy to me would seem ideal rather than as a day to day runner (the Leon).

Another bonus is that you appreciate your cars more (keeps the interest with you for longer). Jumping out of the Leon into the Accord forces you to realise that the Accord is a bluddy good car and visa versa. Just different ball games that's all.

I know that this might not be an option to you but at least might give you an insight. Personally, I believe in multiple cars as long as they are all bought and paid for.

Two cars just isn't an option, parking is a nightmare with one car nevermind a fleet of them

Also, I don't quite like the idea of having two cars to mod.....sounds like trouble to me, I know we don't have to mod cars - but wheres the fun in that!!

I'm still weighing up my options at mo, my TDI justain't giving me a buzz anymore.......love the torque and how it looks but something is missing and I believe its a petrol engine.

I'll sit here and scratch my head for a bit longer yet.....

Insurance paid me out £4,400 for mine. 04, high mileage.

I'm still arguing though because I think it's disgusting.

You cant take me as a good example tbh. I spent a lot of money on the car because I am keeping the car for a couple of years yet. In fact I may keep the car for longer, put it in the garage as a project and get an RS4/Porsche when money allows.

As for spending lots of money to get power. Your car in its current form, all you need is the hybrid and you got your 230bhp which will be as fast as a stage 1 LCR which is a very fast road car. We arnt talking mega bucks here....

I just don't want to spend another 2k on it for an extra 50-60 horses. I've looked into it, I would need a hybrid turbo, mapping, headaches plus my car would defo need the uprated ARB's to make the power useful. Even though i've upgraded my brakes to the 312mm setup I think this wouldnt be enough for the 230HP. Then theres the gearbox/clutch - how much can these gearbox's take?

Gearboxes can take 300bhp or more. Remember getting 50-60 horses in a deisel is a lot of HP...Thats like getting another 80-100bhp in a petrol. The Leon is a lot of car and its hard to beat imo. I have driven nearly all the hatches out there and tbh I havent been tempted away at all. Personally i see making a deisel car fast and rival petrols, its more of a challenge.

I do see your point completely Chris though because your at the point, it is where everyone gets to when they mod something.

I miss the petrol revs...I love driving my best mates LCR but when i get back into mine I soon forget about it. :) If you were to change I think LCR is a good and keeps you within the family hehe.

What are you thinking of getting, whats your budget?

i imagine that for the extra 50 - 60 hp you got a lot more torque , which is what getts you there in terms of power

i think next its jap evo /scoob / skyline, but want to build a garage and that to keep it safe before i dive down the big petrol bill way
