Just returned from a weekend away. Managed to squeeze 309 miles from a tank and I averaged 49.6mpg!

The majority of those miles were motorway and some urban stuff too. Drove to Bristol from Southampton, via Swindon and back to Southampton with a brief stop in Wantage. Full car from Wanatge to Southampton too.

Not too bad me thinks! :D

Just checked my trip computer, over the last 400mile I have averaged 27mpg :D not bad I think

I'm no expert but the obvious things that come to mind are, is it serviced regulary? Tyre pressures correct?, lots of weight in boot? Or do you base your figures on alot of stop/start town driving?

iv only had the car a month or so and when i got it it was worse but have serviced it and now its doing more. most of my driving is town driving but i usualy just roll down the hills to save petrol but it mite be going back up the hills which use up all my juice

Yup :) accelerate lightly while going downhill to built up speed, I always find it a challenge going to work and try to beat my best mpg

I get around 220 out of my sport on a motorway run.

Round town i get around 130 mile to a tank which is about £33.

Doesn't fuel properly though its running slightly rich and its got a catback on it. Doesn't really bother me though as I bought the car because i can afford to fuel it.

Occasionally it does do a good run on fuel, like the other night on some back road driving it got 160 mile to £15 of ultimate.
