it would make sense that one week they build cupra/bocs, and next week another? why would they just do it by which ever gets more orders? if they did that why did i get told that each week they build a version of the car? and obviously so has someone else?

Surely the only body panels that are different on the FR/Cupra/Boc are the bumpers, the rest would be the same?

I though the way it worked was that they waited untill a certain number of orders for similar specced cars came in and then did them all in one go.

I read that on here somewhere, but it could be totally wrong.

I never said it wouldn't make sense, and I never said that I was 100% certain that's how it’s done, all I did was suggest an alternative theory that's equally as valid.

I'm not going to question your proposal it could be entirely plausible, but I will however answer the questions you have asked about mine.

why would they just do it by which ever gets more orders??
The reason why they would do it by which ever gets more orders is that they wouldn't have to change all the equipment every single week. They could spend 2 weeks building TDI Sports for example, then a week building Cupras. (Disclaimer: This just an example!) In my opinion it makes no sense to allocate equal build time to all models when I'm sure bog standard models outsell Cupras.

That's my justification for my theory, as I said in my first post, I read this somewhere on this site, and using my open mindedness, and common sense I decided this would be the most logical way to make cars, if you can provide a logical reason as to why it would make economic sense to change the production line every week, then I could well be swayed to change my opinion.

if they did that why did i get told that each week they build a version of the car? and obviously so has someone else?
I'll answer that question when you can show me where in this thread I said that your statement is complete and utter trash and I am completely correct.

Unless I have an alter-ego on this forum who posts on my behalf, I don't believe I did, so I can't answer that question. What you were told, could be completely correct, however you haven’t mentioned who told you that, additionally I made pretty clean that what I said was not a fact, I was never told this by a dealer, and if a dealer told you that's how they do it, then who am I to argue, but I've been on this forum long enough to know that you can't take what the dealers, or even SEAT UK say as gospel.

As I've said I'm not going to denounce all other possible theories just because I have a different opinion!

Apologies if you think I'm coming across a little strong, but I don't see why you need to interrogate me, when I clearly stated what I had written was nothing more than what I had previously read on this forum.

I'm not normally a keyboard warrior, I guess you've just caught me on a bad day.

lol, chill out! and end of the day it would make sense to build different each week... as your not goin to get loads of orders of just one type of car... your goin to get 1.4sports, tdi's, cupras... if they are doing different each week it means the people who ordered them before will then get theirs in the time that was told. mine 3-4 months. which is what mine should be. I was told by my dads work, who car has been ordered through as we were wanting a build week, so they spoke to factory, and this is what they told them.

OH MY GOD I LOVE THIS CAR!!!!!!!!!! WOOHOO!!!!!!! Sorry guys hahahahahaha. Picked up the boc today and hit the road straight away. Just got home now and all I can say is the long ass wait was sooooo worth it!!! I will post some pictures tomorrow ok.

i just called my dealer. there is a problem with his system so he can't see any progress on my order. Too bad i was hoping for a buildingdate.

yeah i know i ordered 18th of march so a 4 week wait for now but it's already the longest 4 weeks of my life LOL

haha mate that is nothing! this is the 4th week of my car being built! and its still sat over there not even been shipped! i would guess your build week will be in 1 or 2 months time... as its a 3-4months waiting list i think, well was when i ordered.

alright mate they told me mid/end june when i get it so that would be a good 3 months but i got a fr not a boca or cupra so maybe there is sometjing that have to do with that.
PS maybe the problem is with the tracking system and then your dealer has the same problem as mine and yours is shipped but doesn't show up as shipped in the system.

ah right yeh, they seem to come out quicker on the whole production line! i got a cupra so guess you could have yours by then :D hope all goes well with it!

yeah i hope that to dealer got some stuff to do on it also so when they get it should take some extra time to be ready for me to pick it up
