Wide arches you say?

Hi all,

Had a bit of a notion on the weekend to create my own steel wide arches.

needs a bit of cleaning up but was purely to see how hard could it be!

only took 4-5 hours!

planning on putting + 2 inch banded steels under her now for the laugh

thoughts?

hmmm...not too sure about them In my opinion the only thing that suits wide arches/wide bodykit is the clio v6

I appreciate your hands on approach! My mate did the same years ago to his Nova! (bear in mind this was about 11 years ago!)

Steel hand crafted wide arches!

Not a bad job considering he was only 17 at the time!

That nova looks familiar lol did they come in that colour?

Nope, he painted it himself. Was osld to a guy in Ireland for him to rally about 8-9years ago

just typing theres a welder and grinder here too but it's gonna be tied up a lot soon i hope


by the way gets a respect vote from me just for being nuts enough to even think of getting the grinder on it

i would love to do that athers/flapper, but 1) if i f*ck up, i literally f*ck up, no funds to sort it out lol, 2) i don't have the welding expertise

i will definitely learn though for when I get a mk1 golf, as I know it will be needing alot done

I would love to chop my strut turrets and raise them for better suspension travel (yet still good low-ness)

not enough room above sadly - be better off designing a subframe using double A-arm suspension - lot more room and options for suspension but a lot less bulkhead and inner wings - lol

really? i seen a mk1 golf on ed38, he did it, and their turrents are even higher than ours

well i would love to come up with a way to get the car lower

like incorporating the coilover threads to make a proper lowering system (where you can change height through the strut which will be screwed on too, hard to explain but I have it in my head) lol

looking goood altho the man in the back ground looks a splitting image to my grandad i had to double check
