Agree with all this about the Audi thumb over seat's head.

Just look at the original LCR same car as the S3 but the S3 was quicker (on paper), got 4wd and those simply stunning seats!!!.

Same thing is now happening with VW though, the new Golf R is 265 turbo 4wd and basically a new S3.... BUT how can Audi allow this??? well because the new RS3 will be over 300bhp thats how and the new S3 will prob get 280ish.

I hate how VAG wont give the LCR 4WD its upsetting that.

What I find remarkable is that yes, the RS3 will be 300bhp or thereabouts but it will be no different to a normal S3/Golf R, engine or drivetrain wise. Basically they're selling these cars on the assumption that people don't know about the capabilities of remapping but the smart person knows, that for performace at least, you'll buy the Golf R and remap it.

When Audi do an RS car they tend to do something special tbh.

I personally found the LCR to have pretty good build quality. I seen many MK4s have all sorts of issues just like our SEATs. Yes the VW is slightly better built and yes the Passat is a better built car. However with the Passat arguement your not comparing apples to apples. Your comparing a family saloon/estate car to a hot hatch. Generally the 3 series/C classes/Passats/A4s will always have better build quality and their price reflects that.

Back to the proper comparison, r32 vs LCR. What we should be comparing is a Leon Cupra 4 2.8V6 to the R32. Same cars but different shell and seats.

The Cupra4 V6 was the same car as the Golf 4motion. Both cars produced 204bhp, 199lb/ft & weighed 1400kg. However, I think that either would give the R32 a run for it's money as that weighs a ridiculous 1500kg!

all i can say is the r32 is for some fat b@stards who want to sit in an arm chair

Fcuk that if you become that old stay at home in your rocking chairs you want a car that has some soul not a boring old golf and for 10k i would have an evo 8 for that so the r32 is pointless imo :D

The thing that puts me off the new R32 is the weight. And they tend to suit more people of the age 30+

The younger man's pimp luxury hot hatch has the be the latest S3!

What puts me off is the price of everything tax Insurence ect

Only realised the tax for these things was in excess of £300 the other day! Ouch!

Nice cars but not enough to front that running cost let alone fuel etc!!

Definitely..

Nice car to have in the garage though, just to startup and listen to!

they are like footballers overpriced and over rated

constructive enough for you

too constructive ;)

over rated in some respects. but still a decent car. I'd rather an S3 though, just my preference.

did used to like scirocco's but they are more common than Focus ST's now. Shame.

I rarely see LCR's round my way, and when I do it's either one of my 2 mates in a black or red one :)

Could be wrong but I think the RS3 is gonna use the 5 cylinder engine from the TT RS

how come the power outputs from that size engine are so low?

200hp from a 2.8v6 is rather poor!

They've restructured the tax classification, the Mk 1 R32 is the same price as the LCR.
