I would definitely advise getting the beams set correctly when fitting these kits, it may be that it was out before but this has highlighted it, either way these kits are fitting a potentially dazzling light to a unit not designed for it so its best to ensure that all is where it should be and minimise your chance of getting hassled.
When I fitted mine I had no problem with the lights,so maybe you have knocked yours!like Markyboyt said get the beams set correctly and you should be on your way!!
I've never been anywhere to have it done but i'd say not a great deal, its like a 5-10 min job max
i gave them a tenner to adust mine on my bmw but that was only because they were really busy on that day and they are very good to me on MOT day!!
sono more than a tenner i would say.

4300k are the whitest of the range, but also the brightest; they don't really have and blue to them, but are f.ing bright! 6000k are slightly less bright, but do look very good at the same time; still 100% better than standard lights. I got mine off ebay; have used a couple of different sellers and they've all been much the same tbh!

Thanks for the heads-up on the HID's. I'm still unsure which kit (4, 6, 8 or 10) to fit?
I also wanted to know how long the lamps last and does it loose brightness if they're on for hours, as now we're coming into winter and my commute home from work can sometimes take over 4-5 hours, I don't want there to be any fade.
Any advice would be appreciated

I would go for the 6K Or the 8 No higher then 8 tho,cos will be asking for blue lights pulling you
Thanks for that. I am not TOO fussed about the blue effect (not the rozzers the effect of the lamps) I just want superere visibility. So, would you go for 6 or 8 and is there any fade when they're on for hours of switching between main and head lights (as I never drive with side lights only)?
No, HIDs shouldn't fade with time over a journey. You do need to keep an eye on the headlamps though, dirt can reduce the output and scatter the light so just give your headlamps a wipe now and then
4.3 give of the best light imho but if you want a tinge of blue go for 6k.
I'm not sure you would use main beam when you have hids, but i have never noticed any fade.
When you switch to main beam, your dipped remain on so the HID's would remain on with main beam. I have 6000K HID's in my dipped beam and find them just right but had to change to a whiter main beam because it annoyed me. HID's don't work particuarly well in a seperate main beam due to the constant on and off of main beam.
Light output wise, the highest light output is actually 4300K ones and it drops as you go up the scale. As LEE69 says, check out his pics for comparison of the 3 main options.
