Just been out to pick my girlfriend up in rush hour traffic [:@] when at a stand stil the epc warning light pops up when the traffic cleared abit I tried to put my foot down but there was no power what so ever. Should I take it to the dealers first thing or is it a easy fix ? Thanks

Wow, what a coincidence!
I was just about to post the same thing but I'm a day and dealer trip ahead of you.

Yesterday my 1.4 FR TSI with a REVO map did exactly the same with the EPC light but the power came back a little. Took it to the garage this morn and they've just handed it back after charging me £70 and blaming it on low oil even though it was full 2 months ago! I know it does drink it but last time I had 7 months without a top up!

On the way home from the dealers the emissions control light came on but il need to test it on the way to work tomorrow morn.

If anyones got any advice on our similar problem that'd be awesome!

My oils full so it carnt be that checked it when I got back mines just a standard 1.4 carnt get over 3000 rpm in second

I have the feeling that my garage just charged me for oil because they couldn't decide on an actual problem. My revs came back after the trip to the garage although they said they only filled the oil. So, i'm going to take my usual 50 mile round trip tomorrow and see how it goes. I would say take it in as it's under warranty and hopefully your dealer will actually diagnose it! :)

I'll take it down first thing. Did you get a curtisy car? As I have a meeting tomorrow

They said they had run out of courtesy cars so no unfortunately I didn't. Luckily I borrowed my girl friend's 800cc Matiz (it was painful).
Could you let me know how you get on, and if my problem returns i'll let you know what my garage says.

Just been for a quick drive just to see if it is still on. And it's not. going to go down to the dealers just to be on the safe side though

Just got back from the dealers said it should be sorted by Friday they have given me a red Ibiza with panoramic sun roof. Although it has never been panoramic

Wow sounds like your dealers actually care!
What a surprise as predicted, on the way home mine did exactly the same again this time with the emissions light and juddering, rang the dealers and they said "well we don't know whats wrong bring it in on Friday"! That would be fine if I didn't drive 50 miles every day!
I want my £70 back!
Let me know if yours has a diagnosis so I can do my garages job for them and tell what what to fix! lol

lol yea they sound ideal. I was wondering what the borrowing age was as I thought it might have been 25 and im only 23 but dealer didn't have a car to loan anyway! :(

scotty, you say you have a revo on your FR, where did you get this done? and do your dealers know about it? as surely they must get a bit funny about it with your warranty? now your having engine problems too?

Hi Dean,
I got my Revo done in Northampton but I bought a SPS switch from them so before it goes in and ill down tune it to 150 bhp again. As I understand it the Revo code is invisible and doesn't show on the flash counter so they should never know. I havn't gone to the trouble of slapping Revo stickers all over my car and if they can't even diagnose a massive engine problem I feel pretty confident that they won't notice! lol Also if its the Revo causing the problem then I believe they will cover the repairs but I'm not 100% on that.

Just had a call from the dealers the car is fixed picking it up first thing in the monrning I'll let you know what they say

Awesome thanks mate. My stealers gave me a checkup call yesterday to see if I was satisfied with the level of service and as you can imagine I told the harsh truth and said it was poor. Mines going back in tomorrow morn and as they were so sorry they have magiced up a courtsey car!
Any info would be great as i'm still not sure if the'll find the problem.

Ive been getting this problem for a while now... epc + oil pressure light.
My car has had a new engine and new injectors plus whatever minor parts they have put in to try and solve the problem but still I have these lights come on and a lack of power, I got given my car by my dad for passing my test in july yet the car has been in 4 to 5 times now for a total of around 3 weeks. Recently there has been a smell of petrol inside the car when idling too through the air con and we have been to trading standards about these problems and the way we have been treated. Seat said they are not willing to accept the car back for these problems but the GM of Arnold Clark seat has spoke to my dad and he says he is personally going to see my car gets fixed once and for all, so if i find out what is wrong then ill post it on here to help you guys :) goodluck

Thanks Boc-Chris. That doesn't sound too happy! I'll recommend they have a look at the injectors first for sure and hope they can find something. Thanks for the info
