DPF Delete problems again!!!!!!!!

the injectors are different on the CR arent they? maybe something cheaper might be developed for me, i can live in hope. And bigg are you sayin panel filters ruin performance cos dont jbs sell a green filter to go with their de-dpf? i have a k&n one in mine that i have had for years. i understand diesels dont need a lot of extra air like a full induction kit but surely the extra intake cant do it any harm?

Bigg, andrew your makin me feel old at 23! Ok well fine i will do my own little test. This weekend ill swap the panel over and vice versa and i will let you no what i think although tbh i bet i cant tell a single bit of difference lol but ya never no!

Nothing confirmed but apparently VOSA are going to change the rules on Diesel Emissions

Which apparently means Cars after July 2008 will HAVE to have their DPF's on to pass a MOT


So my car would Fail



As i said nothing has been confirmed yet

unless you know a less than reputable MOT Garage, in which case its not a problem even if they bring the law in, and there's plenty in barnsley.

Danny- I bought mine with the rest of the BTCC kit and it didnt cost any extra, so basically i got the diffuser and exhuast instead of btcc rear bumper and exhaust. Anyway speak to Gary@ Cookies or MJ, heres the thread that started this all off:

They did say i could do a trial run of there software see how it goes! Im not sure they will be able to load a trial tho as JBS have locked the ECU,

no they dont have RR facilities, but you will be able to tell instantly seeing as tho your like 30bhp down lol. and SEAT had locked my ECU when he was doing mine and he got round it, i am sure the JBS's one wont be too difficult but i would mention it to him if i was you, in fact i am seeing him tomorrow if you want me to ask.

Is that Shark Performance in Mansfield? How much did they charge for the DPF delete and remap? Did they say anything about the inherant problems that other s have mentioned on here?

I emailed AMD this morning about the DPF delete as it is not on their website and they replied saying that it's best avoided as no one can say, in honesty, that they can deal with the ecu wanting to regen etc and that's it is hit and miss where you will have these problems?!?! Sounds like an expensive risk, but still considering it!

Thats was a quick response! Thank you. What power (approx) is the map supposed to give? I don't want to affect the fuel economy too much. I have heard people say that the DPF delete in iteslf can help improve the fuel consumption, but I would have thought the remap would reduce it?!

Can you tell I am new to this?? haha

well exact power figures are unknown, its not all about BHP anyway but how it is delivered plus us devil fueled are more about the torque. Custom Code used to say 230-240bhp which is a bit unlikely, but 225 should be more like it. Is yours a PD or a CR btw?

With DPF off the car wont use fuel to burn off the soot and also it will have a less restricted flow of fumes so if you drive it as you would a normal car you will see an improvement, however foot to the floor and it will use more, obviously.

Still running Custom Code my fuel economy isnt really any better but thats because im very heavy right footed and believe every journey should be done quickly


Apart from the engine stuttering which ive solved now not had any other problems..

Oh sorry. I'm pretty sure it's the PD170 as it is 57 plate FR. Not actually picked it up yet! Two more days!

its not a silver one with high mileage is it? lol could be my old one if it is ... sorry lol. anyway as its a PD i think there are more places who can offer dpf removal as well as shark but im sure andrew and BIGG can advise you better, i only remapped my pd not de-dpf'd it like my CR.
