Loving DPF delete:)

Just wondering if anyone can give feedback on the dpf delete and remap, as the gains seem to be really good. HAs anyone had a standard map and then dpf deleted? It sounds amazing my only worry would be warranty lol. Any feedback would be great

Seriously contemplating DPF delete!!!

Hey guys. I have been on the phone back and forth to custom code and am seriously contemplsting the dpf delete. The car already runs a map at 206bhp and 322ftlbs of torque but i have been having hesitation problems on it when on full boost changing gear at high revs. I spoke to custom code concerning it and they basically said out right the chances are it is the map. My current tuner is going to have a crack at altering it for me which is very good of him. But if it can't be sorted im thinking on a dpf delete. Custom code said they have had no problems on the cars they have done and that the car is transformed. THey quoted me in gains anything from 225-240bhp but the torque is around 320ftlbs? WHich is the same as my car. But after seing the graphs where my car peaks at 3500rpm the max bhp seems to be up at 4-4.5k. Just wondering guys if anyone can give me some first hand advice for those that have done the mod? WHat it's like to drive and if any problems have occured mechanically? If i am do get it done apparantly i am the first that J.Gracie has done in Scotland. But again any advice on it and opinions from others would be appreciated. Cheers

let me know how this goes if you get this done. I'm also in Scotland and have been waiting for a tuner to make this available in Scotland. Being in Edinburgh, J Gracie in Glasgow is certainly closer than traveling down to England.

Quite a few people have done it on here. A quick search will bring up several threads on the subject including the one below which you will probably find useful.

HI

JBS are the ONLY supplier of the Milltek DPF delete pipe. It even has a JBS part number on it.

Feel free to call milltek and ask them.

Custom-Code and JBS spend 100's of hour's developing safe Powerfull maps that reconfigure the ecu in a way that eliminates the DPF . No hardware or so called sensor modifications needed.

See here for more details :http://www.jbsautodesigns.co.uk/product/3350/170-ppd-20-tdi-largebore-dpfoff-package

Hope this helps.

DPF delete on friday!!

On friday i'm booking in with custom code in glasgow for a dpf delete to be done. I'm lead to believe by the guy it will be the first one done in Scotland apparantly, but can't wait! CC technician was very helpful. I told him about my issue that i have with the remap i have got on it just now, with hesitation when chaging gear on full throttle. The technician said he thought it would be a mapping fault as he has had similair faults on early custom code maps. All in £800, but as i'm still young i might as well do it while i can! The custom Code technician thinks the bhp will fall anywhere between 225-240 bhp. THe torque doesnt go up significantly on that of a standard map about 10-20 ftlbs on my already 320 ftlbs of torque, but with the dpf off it allows the max bhp to be found higher up the rev band. The map has been tested through smoke tests and apparantly passes with ease. Hopefully this new map and dpf delete will eliminate my hesitation and also elimantate any chance of common dpf issues. The one thing i was worried about was the clutch but the guy has said the torque increase isn't that big on the stage 1, and all cars that have been done down south have had no recorded internal issues. Can't wait!:D

Sounds good matey, need to get mine done next year to match my Milltek CAT back pipe :D Is your car still under warranty mate? If it is, do you know how much it effects any dealer work?

Cheers,
Danny.

I think the reason there chargin the £800 Danny is just the fact they will have to buy in the downpipe and obviously you are paying for there software development. Because there are not many places with the de dpf software functioning correctly. What other mods have you got on the car?

Only got a Milltek pipe on at the minute, but when I get a DPF delete I'm gonna get some form of cold air intake or a green cotton panel filter because it will be roughly 240bhp I would have thought and after that it will be big bucks for an uprated clutch :(
How about yours?

Danny.

Just an Angel tunig remap to 206bhp and 322ftlbs of toque. And orion alloys. They do a green cotton panel filter with the car for an extra 40 mapped in. I'll be honest mate i have a feeling the clutch wont have to be uprated touch wood:rolleyes: Apparantly the clutches on the 2.0 tdi units are really hardy. As CC said there has been no clutch issues.
