Hi all,

im very new to this and wanted to know if any1 could give me a hand?

i have standard cupra 1.8 20v T and I'm changing the discs and pads, could any one recommend a good set up to use on this?

i was thinking using EBC Turbo Groove Discs and EBC Yellow Stuff Pads front and rear???

cheers

Have you tried the search feature? This has been covered many times

Personally I'd go for Ferodo DS2500 pads on standard disks, but that's just me

Id check Mtec brakes out, had a set for mine, came with mintex pads, stop much better than standard.

The standard AP caliper setup is already uprated to be fair, as IIRC this was only standard in the UK, so unless you going for serious power, 4 pot calipers and even standard pads and disks are sufficient.

I know about the bite when cold, thats why i was going to use yellow stuff pads as when i researched them they are suppose to have good bite even when cold.

I would have a look at a tarox set if i were you, Ive got Tarox B32 6pot setup on mine at the moment and the quality in the discs and pads are brilliant. before that i had 288 tarox discs and pads with my standard set up and they were fantastic. They are reasonbly priced too. so would certainly be worth a look

Ferodo DS2500 pads for fast road but if your going to track it then get the DS3000 pads.

I did a track day last year in the Ibiza and nearly set my discs on fire after 8 very hot laps (no cooldown lap due to red flag). No fade at all though. Think it was prob more down to the cheapo discs I was running. The pads still overheated though..

has any1 tried the Brembo Max discs? and Brembo Pads? they seem reasonbly priced and i know Brembo are a good brake the ones i had on my Evo were brilliant.

I just bought some Mintex discs and pads front and rear for £140. They do the job nicely and for the price I can't complain!
