dump valve problems

ok, whats the differences between the 007p and the split-r? as far as i can see its about £40? and how easy are they to fit/how much should i expect to pay to get it fitted?

Fitting is easy mate three pipes ;) the diference is split R is 50/50 atmospheric/recirculating 007 is fully recirculating these engines require the boost pressure to be recirculated through the system not dumped to atmosphere so a normal bow off valve will cause the car to run in limp mode with the splitter R you recirc 50% and dump the rest to atmospher but it can be adjusted to recirc say 70% and dump 30% or recirc 100% and so on ;)

so if i want a whoosh, best to go for the split-r? and i could reasonably expect to be able to swap it over without setting something on fire or breaking something important. (honestly, i am that much of an amateur!!!!)

Lol ye if you still have standard then you'll need some 19-21mm jubilees but it's pipe off pipe on ;) lol The split R will need to be set up witch you can dig and there's a guide on here for it ;) that will give you a woosh but there's no gaurentee that you engine will run it some do some don't :( sambryant can't run one but any Lang can with no trouble and that's how it goes :( lol

yeh its the standard one at the moment (bosch perhaps?). where's a good place to get them at a decent price, or is ebay as good as anywhere? might just get a 2nd hand one if theyre hit or miss as to whether itll even make alot of difference

If you can't have it as half blow off half recirc then you can just put it as 100% recirc so you can still use it ;)

but then wouldnt i be just as well off to keep the standard dv and put the £100+ towards my window tints? or are there other advantages to upgrading the dv?

That's your choice mate ;) the standards one will be fine for now bit they do break at some point :(

its not long been changed actually, old one was dumping constantly, effectively means i didnt have a turbo. i think ill get a 2nd hand one from ebay or something and see what comes of it. cheers for all the advice:redface:

I've just purchased a split-r off ebay. Bargain at £53 :)

Just hoping to be able to run it now without hitting the dreaded limp mode. Hoping that Klones guide will work, otherwise it's back on ebay and lots of cursing for not buying a 007p in the first place.

The guide should work 100% matey.. i've been a busy bee doing other peoples lately... i've now installed them on about 6 cars..

you can easily sell it on IF it doesnt work... but i'm pretty certain you can get it working bud :)

by all means experiment with the "clicks" im tempted to have a go on mine, but then there is always the "if its not broke, dont fix it" rule :)

I didnt like the split R seemed to cause turbo chatter no matter how many clicks I adjusted it!....much prefer my 007p and open cone with the bonnet lining removed. Loads of videos on youtube of them both if your undecided which 1 to get.

unusual matey!

i got chatter on 100% recirc... just wanted to hear it... so i knew what to listen for on test drive.

Havent any any issues since though.. and the dumping is pretty cool ;)

Since the for sale section has gone on here.. there are much more Split R's on ebay i have noticed... Some are buy it now for £75... not bad. :)
