Yeah, the only way to stop the rear doors being opened from the inside is by moving the wee switch manually on the inside of the door. Think it's like this on most cars.

Another note of worth for this thread. You can lock the car with any door or the boot open (except the drivers door) and the car will automatically lock the car once all doors have been shut. Not sure about it arming the alarm this way though.

Found this particulary handy when getting shopping out the boot. Open boot, press lock on the key fob, then when you close the boot the car is locked. Hey presto!

My Toyota Verso doesn't have this feature and I miss it ALOT!

Here's something I discovered the other day, you can't run down the battery by leaving the interior light on. As it goes off as soon as you lock the car.

Good thinking from SEAT cos it's very easy to leave on, and then you'd be left with a flat battery :(

theres 3 settings to the left keeps it on all the time middle is off and the rights when you open doors and once you get out and lock the car they stay on for a couple of seconds

Xenon Headlamps

Does anybody know if you can retrofit xenon headlamps to a 2010my Ibiza FR?

I have an Ibiza FR and have fitted uprated bulbs but dipped beam still isn't good and wondered if these could be fitted?

Nice guide!

Its cool you can enable stuff like the auto-locking yourself, with the Golf a trip to the dealers was required to get that changed!

another thing to note...
DO NOT:
press the boot unlock button (or the lock button while the boots open)
place your keys in the boot while you pick up your shopping
forget to pick up your keys
close the boot...

the Boot will autolock, with your keys inside!

havent done this myself, but only because I avoid the boot unlock button. Would have happened on several occasions if I had :p

seat belt alert

Is there some kind of weight sensor on the front two seats? I had my heavy ruck sack on the passenger seat the other day, and the unfastened seatbelt sign kept flashing and beeping until i moved it! If there is sensor, cool function, but a little annoying when it's a bag and not a person in ur passenger seat! :)

Yea, there is. If your on your own (without bag), give it a press in the middle whilst the cars moving and the sign will flash. Keeps me amused anyways...

Yeah, my mate figured it out when i told him to put his seatbelt on as i was fed up with the car whining at me.
He decided he'd be a smart arse and kinda half stand up to beat the car.

so i gave the brakes a jab.

If you hold the MENU button on the radio in and then turn on the ignition it takes you in to a test / info menu in the radio.

The info seems to me radio type, serial no + more.

wow, will give it a go... will certainly kill some of the boredom during rush hour traffic... well, at least for a minute or two!:)

Deano, that was a nice find with the radio, I must try that one! Hope it doesn't ask you to punch in an activation code afterwards...cos i can't find mine! :/

Never went in to the test screen but the info screen just lets you page through various info stored in the radio. ( never asked for any info to be entered )

I belive you need the radio code if you swap the radio in to another car cos it cant match it's code with the ECU.

Radio thing must be MY11 only - nothing happened on my MY10 radio, or maybe I was doing it wrong, but I know the MY11 models have different radios - (look the same but better screen apparently)
