Had my Exeo ST serviced ahead of a trip to Spain and I have got it back with the next serive due showing --- Miles and --- Days. The dealer says it will reset after a few days/miles, both a few days have passed and I driven 150+ miles with no change. Anyone else had this? I saw that one member had it after he requested this car changed to 10k service interval, I only had the car serviced.

Hi, yes I had this come up after my recent first service, I believe it says this somewhere in the user manual and should have a proper readout after 500 miles, mine did this, although it has come up with longlife service time and miles and according to my dealer mine is 12 monthly service....Julian

When I collected my Exeo in November 2010 the dealer told me that no Exeo was on long life, they are all 10000 mile service.... funny, I said..... mine is long life:D

So...I think some are and some not.... like VW/Audi, depends how the factory set them up

The only information I know, is what I managed to gleen from the Sales guy (canonman on here) at my local dealer, after I had bought the car, having originally been told it was long-life servicing.

After about 9months (9,000 miles) the service indicator popped up, so I queried it with the dealer, and the end result was that my car was one of the very early ones and had not been fitted with the oil condition sensor, and could therefore not be put on variable servicing.

However, I'm overly bothered, as I actually prefer the oil being changed more frequently then the expected 18,000miles on the variable service schedule. I use the same long-life oil anyway.

I agree.... I do not agree with long service intervals.... in my opinion 18-20K between oil changes is way too much, so I intend to have mine changed at 10K....

I appreciate that oils have come a long way since the days of my 1982 Cortina and it's 6K intervals.... but I believe that for what it costs... get it changed....

It depends on the type of motoring you do I guess. I had a 1.9PD A4 before the Exeo, it was always on long-life and did 140k miles no problem. I do about 18k/year and so long life is ideal for me, it means 1 service/year.
