Great update, good to see the car coming back together now. There's got to be someone who does a purple open cone filter. Il keep an eye out for you. Otherwise what about going for a black open cone, like the range pipercross do?

Looking good mate. Did you get that sfs tip???

I managed to get an all in price of £138.40 but just waiting on the service manager to confirm before I order.

Also where did you get your upper Intercooler pipes, I tried creations Motorsport as there only £77 all in but only do blue and black. I'm after them in red.

Do they do a LCR coolant kit?

Trying not to be an arse in any way, please remove your braided lines and refit them correctly.
PTFE tape is only supposed to be used in low pressure applications like plumbing or where the seal is on the threads, like an NPT thread.
Brake pipes seal on the nose of the fitting or the flared pipe end.
As a stop gap to get to home this does but as a long term solution it won't.
Also the threads of PTFE can and have blocked fine ports in valves, like the ABS one.
In my industry PTFE is banned, I would imagine in aeronautical engineering its use is frowned upon too.

Completely agree willie. Ptfe tape is a no no in the motor trade too...

Nae your wrong :p

But really the problem im finding is that because theyv been powder coated and they obv never sealed up the bleed holes and stuff im getting the slightest bit of leakage thru the connection to the caliper as the fluid eats the paint off so im having to keep tightening up the pipes and stuff as it happens. PFTE tape was more to stop the fluid dripping out constantly and wrecking stuff, i believe everything is connected up correctly its just where it meets the caliper with any luck it shouldnt be a long term part, didnt know about it blocking ABS

Same is happening with the bleed nipples just seem to be bit of a fiddling period to get them sorted, pedal feels fine and so on. We did have to bleed the master cyclinder too :censored: arsed doing that again.

Main problem have had is routing the pipeline so its not rubbing or anything, but as im getting new stuts and stuff later im not worried to much about it right now.

Iv been compairing the pipes to the pics, most of them seem to be similar to the kit iv found on net. But im planning on mailing SFS at a later date to order few bits and bobs so will ask about the coolant kit :funk:

Oh and you'd be surprised we do use PTFE tape on aircraft, but its not a ermmm process thats in the aircraft publications, more of a approved bodge lol

The kit came with brackets to mount it to the slam pannel, its a good kit. I just need to drill the holes in the slam pannel with i aint done yet as my drill is goosed

Ah k, I was hoping to rig something up to mount it to the diagonal bars that run in front of the radiator. Any chance of a link to the kit you got?

Nice one, cheers :) In the pics on ebay it looks like the cooler fixes on to the crash bar, is that right?

Also, are the hard pipes beaded at all? And did you have to cut any of the bumper away to get it to fit?

Sorry for all the questions!

Take calipers back, ask them to sort out the holes should you not? If you paid good money to have them refurbed, then you should get a good job done surely?

Yeah they do fit to the crash pannel, you need to drill a couple of holes.

The metal pipes do come with beaded ends and the clips you get with the kit are very good, theyr wide so dont dig into the silicon that much.

The ducts that feed air to the SMIC need to be more or less cut away all together, im still in process of finnishing mine off so i will stick up loads of pics to give you an idea. Its okay gives me sumthing to do

If im honest i CBA taking them off again, since its not leaking that much and everytime i go back to them theyr getting better, just a little pain but its improving so i think should be sorted soon, when i fitted all my stuff last night i put bit of paper roll in there and more or less dry. Plus im in no real rush for the car

On a plus they do work pretty awsome atm

Derek, as long as there is even the slightest of show of brake fluid then this is not made up correctly.
As I said, these connections seal on the nose of the fitting. If this isn't fully home then it is not correct.
This may be alright for a day/week/year but when you need it the most it might fail on you.
With a popped bleed plug or hose you have ZERO brakes.
There is not safety system build in to save you in this scenario.
I'm sure you'll sort this out before doing too much more driving.
PTFE in aircraft systems is very worrying.

Chucked this up on the ramps other night see what was looking like, backs where bone dry pulled majority of tape out threads and took last of the powder coating out the threads i think so thats sorted now still dry and seems good. Tweeked bleed nipples up a little more again seems good.

After a good thrash with some hard braking still seems good so leave that for a while now, before have to rebleed system.

If most folk knew what almost every aircraft is allowed to fly with they wouldnt be happy, some crazy seeming faults are fine and most are bodged in some place just way it is

Mot failure too.

How'd they see if there was anything like that in the threads

Me and my mate went round and did a number of jobs on the Lolf last night  pain in the arse

Holes drilled for the mounting brackets, watching out for cables in behind

Bracket mounted on crash bar, but put the bracket behind the lip as i found out this way brings the FMIC forward and you will struggle to refit bumper [:@]

001-71.jpg

All plumbed up

005-61.jpg

007-55.jpg

Since the FMIC comes back a bit you will probly need to move your horns, i mounted mine like this

008-48.jpg

and for the bumper get crazy with the grinder and cut that bitch down

009-49.jpg

Hope this helps if your thinking of getting this kit mate, seems good just take more effort that the forge ones, but its so much cheaper

oh and he seems to have snapped me playing with new seats

003-63.jpg

I also got the holes cut in the back of the headlight covers for the HIDs happy days and got them working.

Was more talking about brake fluid leaking.

I want those seats. Are they straight fit at the front?[/QUOT

The seats arent a straight swap but iv got adapters that bolt to my car then seats. The rear will need a bit of work as the mounts are different. But all part the fun

Best off turning your horn to face down the way to save being a water trap.

Was more talking about brake fluid leaking.

The horn has been bent down a bit more from that pic, 45% so I shouldn't have any problems now.

Dav- yeah I wouldn't have expected it to pass with that, but think its sorted now

Also there is a sensor thingy on the left hand side the car that used to mount to the bumper, but iv cut the mounting bracket due to the fmic. What is this part?
