And that is why you fail![]()
Gary's right though, you can add ARBs, Strut braces, polybushes etc and it still won't bring it up to the level of some other cars. Growing some balls won't do anything apart from get you closer to losing it.

Grip it and rip it.
Yeah... R.I.P it.
I can't see how you seem to think the Ibiza is so good.. It's ok but nothing to shout about!

Lets be honest though mick, your comparing it to your new megane which was designed by renaultsport (i.e not renault mainstream) which is specifically for fast, sporty cars. Yours has an LSD as well, so the ibiza is never going to be a match. Seat have to use what parts that are in the bottom of the VW parts bin and make do with that, hence a the fr and cupra versions of the ibiza are just ordinary ibizas with bigger engines effectively.
Hark at you now you have your fancy pants lsd equipped renault.![]()
I understand that, and as I said before I thought my Ibiza was pretty good. Just when you can compare it to other things you see the bigger picture. I'm sure at the start of the thread there was a few posts along the lines of "Buy something else". I know what you're saying though which is a shame, as if the handling/suspension in general was better in the FR and Cupra then they would be really good.... That's just the part that lets them down![]()
Hmm, all this negative talk makes me want to change cars again lol. At the end of the day it gets me from a to b though.

Mine has an LSD
I think the problem is, people confuse grip with handling. Put the two side by side on track and I bet the Ibiza will pull the same lateral g as Micks renault. Its how the feel when doing it thats the problem.
I have no doubt at all in the cars abilities, or my own, and I'm known to push it to the limits (and beyond) on occasion.
Its the ways the cars do it thats the issue. When pushing an Ibiza to the limit, you know your at the limit, and if you blink, your in a hedge. If you do the same in a megane/clio/306/106 etc etc you go round the corner at the exact same speed, you just never feel like your life is in your hands while your doing it.
Sometimes this can be a bad thing, as it means when it does let go, you tend to be going faster.
I also think GK is deliberately being an arse to stir the thread up, but since suspension and handling is my favourite topic, I'l give him sensible replies for a little while![]()
This forum needs a bit of stiring up.Ibiza is not perfect, but when it comes to the diesel models it is virtually impossible to find any other car that offers the same level of running cost, buying cost, performance and good looks.

Exactly. And I know that underneath the forum persona, you actually are not an idiot (thats not a backhanded compliment btw lol)
But there are so many people on here who actually think the Ibiza will outhandle a GTR.
And there are the comments from people who can do 15mph more in an Ibiza to a 206 Gti etc etc
In reality, I'd expect corner speed from almost any hot hatch to be with 1-2mph of each other. Its just the feeling as they do it.
As for commenting on a C2 - I don;t think that needs done
Didnt you also used to have an MG. So for you the Ibiza probably handles like a GTR![]()
Rover 25 mate! Handling was good on that tbh, far better than corsa, fiesta of same age.

I'm not sure I'd ever want to be comparing handling to a corsa or fiesta![]()
I've tried more suspension set ups than most, and driven a few other ones, and I've never driven an ibiza with coilovers that cost less than £1k that handled well and coped with daily driving.
RARB is shouted about on here all the time, and IMO its useless on the road. Strut braces are the same.
The best my car has handled and driven well was with standard supsension, no roll bars, full polybush set up and geometry changes.
And even still, anything french and standard would be better
