While breaking it seems to grip and let go and grip and let go and grip and let go, they seem new disks and the calipers have just been serviced and new seals, any ideas why they grip and let go??

When you say 'Grip'.... Do you mean they 'Judder' if you drive about 70 MPH an touch the brakes you will feel it more.

Of this is the case, it sounds like your discs are warped. If they are new it maybe that one or both are not sat on the hub straight, If the rust has not beeen removed before fitting of the new disc.

ye they judder when the break is applied but i can feel it when pulling up to lights and it will juddrer like i am messing with the pedal, ill have a look at the disks, it had been sat 5 days before i bought it but i have driven 50-60 miles so i would have imagine this would have smothed out if it was surface rust

possible the hub face is rusty and making the discs sit untrue? See it a few times at work. What I'd to is remove the wheel, push the pads back slightly so they don't catch the disc, spin the disc and watch it for side to side movement.

ye thats worth a try ill give it a try if its not raining tomorrow. Thanks

If it doesnt stop itself i think i may have to strip them down are rebuildboth frants allthought i have a sneaky susspission it is the FOS

Sounds like warped discs. If you replace the discs AND PADS, and make sure they seat properly on the hub, your problem 'should' vanish. If not it could be bearings....but i doubt it

well now you mention bearings i do think i have a noisy bearing on the FNS i diddnt know if it was the disks though as they judder under braking, ill have to have a proper look when i get chance,
How much are disks and pads for LCR brembos???

Not cheap lol. Even at trade prices the discs are a bit on costly side. (Bare in mind I'm talking genuine SEAT discs, haven't priced any others as of yet).

Put dome Delphi discs and pads on it. Always seemed pretty good when I have used them. reckon you could kit it out for less than £120. maybe much less.. dont hold me to that

Just reading through these forums. Soooo many complex technical problems with no answers on these Leons. lol. Think ill stick to my trusty Civic Sport

Is there a humming noise at speed? (no brakes applied) This would indicate a bearing

Possibly. if it was knackered and had play in it. Replace your brakes dude

Ok had a mechanic out with me today in the car. He could here the "weering" noise and suggested it is the wheel bearing. I have only just purchased the car from the garage do I have a leg to stand on to get them to fix it????

Well I'm not sure if they mentioned warranty allthough I did think I here's the wheel bearing on the test drive and I did ask if it was the bearing and he said no, he said we have fully checked ye car and it won't be the bearing it is possibly the brakes as the car has been stood for a week,

I'm sure I read that all garage have to give some warranty so that people don't get ripped off,

The garage I bought it from in my newby thread
