Well I guessed it was time to get my own little thread up and running on here, so here it goes

Started life off with my Toledo

Which eventually made way for my 2008 sportrider TDI. I bought this brand new which ended up with a few mods here and there ;)

It mostly spent its life being cleaned and polished. Was running coil overs, map, miltek cat back hids, white line arb, plus a few other bits.

Finally got bored with owning diesels so set out to look for some thing newer and little more poke. During my search I had a few to chose from

Till I eventually ended up purchasing the cupra.

Was 18 months old. With only 6k on the clock. It had been owned by a local man to the dealership who had only had it to use at the weekends. But after changing his job needed a diesel for his longer commute to work.

I have all ready started with a bits and bobs
Full LEDs inside and out on side lights. Number plate lights and interior lights.
Silvatec bulbs all round. Front indicators, rear indicators, side repeaters
Osram night breaker plus head light bulbs
Painted the head shield
Fitted a genuine arm rest
Pipercross filter element.

Future plans include

Rear spoiler
Black wheels
Miltek cat back
Plus a few other subtle changes

So have the car has been pretty good ( touches wood very quickly and awaits baldy dave to come and have a poke at TSIs ;) )

Oil usage has been fairly low it has done 3500 miles and has used just under a litre of oil, during the week I have a 40 mile round trip to and from work which the car gets driven sensibly, and has been returning around 39 mpg doing around 400 miles on a tank.

Loving the poke and the DSG, was a little unsure at first if I should have left the diesel fraternity but now I am actually glad I did. Had diesels for so long now and with the TSI you get the power and the torque plus a bit more fun.

Next stage for the car is to have a full paint correction as during it's life it has seen a car wash here and there. Apart from that's am going to keep it as it is for as long as I can. Being a TSI I managed to get the dealership to do me a good deal on an extended warranty just incase the usual traits of the engine came along and saves me some money in the long run, which hopefully I won't need to use.

Next up I think will bea spoiler, and why seat didn't fit those from the factory I will never know.

I would love to have the car stage 1 or 2 but with the warranty I will have to refrain from this just incase.

How did you find the TMC tuning box?

I have always been a little bit sceptic about 'tuning boxes' and what the long term effects the will have on an engine over time vs a 'proper' engine map.

I will try and find the links for the lights shortly once I have got onto my laptop to copy them across.

Side lights are

Number plate lights are

Book says 239 39 mm long. But these do fit, I have fitted them no problem. These were also a brighter output.

Now I had issues with my inner side lights, as these are canbus I purchased 3 sets of error free bulbs, but each time they still set off my bulb warning. It appears that some cars are more sensitive with canbus.

So in the end I purchased these.

So far so good. Hope that helps.

Obviously a generic/custom remap will be a better solution as it completely alters the ECU but the tuning box is a very good alternative. If you need a removable solution to bump a little more power out of the 1.4 TSi this is it. It intercepts and over rides the signals to increase performance and does not go past the safety cut off.

I got mine from TMC

I honestly love mine, it's not on the car at the moment and it feels gutless, it has no midrange at all.
