Hi

Ive got a few question regarding silicone hoses and i was wondering if anyone could help.

Ive recently bought a 2005 leon FR tdi 150 and im thinking of getting some silicone hoses for it but as ive never had them fitted to any of my other cars i dont know too much about them so my questions are

1. do they work
2. Do you have to inform your insurance company
3. what manufacture do you recomend.

any help would be great

thanks

i have changed all mine to red sfs hoses on my lcr, look so much better than the standard hoses and are much stronger.didnt tell my insurance about them.

Depends what hoses your gonna get, ei boost/coolant/vacuum etc.. coolant ones are mainly for show where as boost will help you if your running remaps / more power ans they wont collaspe under boost so easy.. Ive just done most of mine and they were SFS, very helpful guys..

as said above, didnt really buy them for performance just looks really.i will be getting a 3'' tip for that:p

Same as me really, only did all mine green to match my retrim.. dying to take mine for a blast now with my 3" T.I.P too :)

I will be at some point going down the main performance route but at the mo I'm looking for small mods and the colour if the hoses does break up the dull black engine bay

it will make a big difference to your bay with coloured hoses, cant wait for my sfs tip to turn up:D

been looking on ebay and the 4mm vac line looks nice and cheap, might start with that and work my way onto the 8mm stuff afterwards

I wouldn't see the need to inform the insurance company tbh, most of any hoses are a direct replacement, i wouldnt class them as a modification but being a uprated replacement part and technically its the same part but in a different material and colour :)

As said the TIP has the most gains, if you was worried go stealth and buy black ;)
