Haha sweet! jeez bet that was a guzzler! lol

What do you love about your lcr the most? Iv always loved them! Never thought id be able to afford one though! The 2 cars iv always loved are the LCR and the Honda civic type r (EP3) :) i hope to get to drive one of those at some point! although after owning a lcr i may not even want one we'll see lol.

I cant wait for the drive home when i pick one up!! Its the best feeling ever picking up a new car espesh something as fun as that!

I love that it makes me laugh out loud. Which usually comes just after turning the traction control off :)

It's just good fun to drive compared to the BMW. That was big and heavy and totally planted - pretty boring in my eyes. I'm a bit of an adrenalin junkie when it comes to cars. I wrote my Alfa gta off when the bonnet catch snapped doing "motorway speed" on the motorway and slammed into the windscreen and sunroof covering me in glass, and to be completely honest it was exciting.

I've had both LCR and EP3 Civic type r. I was 30 at the time and the Honda was the worst car to insure. Almost as much as paid for a Scooby Impreza when I was only 23. The Honda is fun to drive but The LCR is (in the words on Tony the Tiger)....G-G-G-G-R-R-R-E-E-A-T

Ive had approx 120 cars since I was 17 and the Leon is a great one!

That's why now my FR 170 has gone (going today) due to a massive wage drop, I'm going to get another mk1 LCR. Great cars!! Everything you need. And it's like having a Spa-break every time you drive them as they have 4 x footwell swimming pools! (that's the only bad point I've found on the 3 mk1 Leon cupras I had)

ah sweet! it saying something when people have said theyve had beastly cars and still go back to an LCR! Its gonna be different for me 'cos it'll be my first proper performance car. My saxo was like a racecar but built just for speed, the LCR should be comfort n everything. wow 120 cars!!! lol! im only 23 aswell, so the LCRs gonna be about 1600 to insure which is quite a bit! but i was paying £220 a month on the saxo 2 years ago lol! Oh god iv heard that so much lol does every single one leak or something? Isit just seals or something? If so once youve replaced them will it stop or does it constantly happen?

You must live in a high crime rate post code?!? I'm 23 and im paying £770/year mods declared!?

I've had a fair few performance cars, im on car 17 to date.

these include:-
Integra Type R
6 Clios (2x16v's, 2x williams', 2x 172's)
Turbo Mx5
Evo
2 LCR's
2x 19 16v's

Regarding the wet carpet thing, I have had my car 6 years and yesterday was the first time my REAR drivers side floor mat was soaking!!! It's cool though. It's a quirk.
Gotta say I was as enthusiastic as you were back in 2005 for the car and it's still there tbh :)

ah well suppose just depends on each car doesnt it! Hopefully i get a not-very-leaky one haha. Well thats good then!

Don't let the leaks put you off. My last one had to have 3 sets of mats in the back footwell to keep the kids from trampling water all over (as even tho the LCR has 5 doors for some reason kids need to clump all over your front two seats and get out of the front??!!!). It was starting to stink but now I'm armed with this website and the Threads on how to fix it seem brilliant so DON'T let that put you off.

Tbh iv just done a quick gocompare quote as it gives me a rough guide on if i can afford it or not.. I might be able to get it down abit more through someone direct. Whats HIC?

And okay thanks birdy, it wasnt putting me off :p haha

Im gonna mate! just saving some more money :) maybe next month i'll be able to buy one! Gotta wait until then :(

Lol don't wanna turn this into a boring insurance thread but I'm 33 with 4 years no claims, all mods declared £950!!!!

Looool. Anyway, the wet floor thing doesn't bother me, however the dash rattle I had at the start was killing me.

Oh another thing dude, you mentioned the ride will be more comfortable than your Saxo? Dunno bout that, mine was notoriously slam happy even then....awww poor me.

you ll be fine coming from a saxo, i had a 106gti on throttle bodies before the leon, its a big increase in straight line speed, however i still do really miss the noise of the 106, and the handling is completely different, still to this day dont think theres a road car out there (bar a lotus) that will keep up with a well set up 106/saxo on the B roads!

and while we are on insurance, mine is £460, everything declared with adrian flux. (green light were cheapest for me though)

ouch thats quite expensive for a 33 year old!

I just meant a better built car than my saxo lol cos that was just fast, but really.. a pile of turd lol everything broke soooo easy! and cos it was low allsorts of problems were occuring lol.. at one point a tiny pmetal pipe on the steering rack had rubbed on the track rod causing the PS fluid to p*ss out, ended up needing a new rack (put a 2nd hand one in) but it cost me £200 in labor! also driveshafts went, exhaust needed welding cos it scraped so much.. lol

HIC is an insurance company dude.

I did a quick quote earlier, and it gave me 3 prices.. one was about £1100 and the other 2 were over £2000.. didnt quite get it though why they were so different, i'll do it properly when im closer to buying one :) I will deffo look at these smaller specialist insurance companies though i love a good deal lol and i could do with saving the extra pennies on insurance if poss! Then i can spend more on fuel and whatever else lol.

Ha bet that was a change! see i went to a focus after the saxo just cos i wanted a normal car for a bit lol was sick of having to avoid certain areas and roads cos i couldnt get over speedbumps! and everything breaking.. so i just got something boring lol. oh yes the noise was the best part of the saxo! used to go on drives to anywhere that had tunnels lol! used to pop like mad if u stamped accelerator at about 4k  i never really ragged it round country roads cos i dint fancy killing meself cos i knew how easy those things crumpled up!!! it did eat few things though lol. i suprised few people!

how old r u? insurance is different for everyone though isnt it.. unfortunately i live in a crap rated area :( worst thing is my mate lives round the corner literally 5 houses away and hes classed as a posh area! Grrrr!

Def agree with the 106 comments. I had a yellow GTi that went like f'in stink. Kept up with scooby's to about 90 Ish? A good driver in a 106 gti will give most modern performance cars a run for their money in the country lanes! I really moss mine. I loved it that much I bought the same car twice!! Sold it (for a little profit) then bought it back a month later for half price. Kept it another 6 months then sold it again (for a larger profit!). I can def recommend selling a car to a lotto winner ha ha

I was ringing every insurance company up as the car suddenly popped up for sale on ebay near me, so i was desperate for the cheapest quote, its much better 2 ring than doing the online forms imo. Best i got as im 22 with 4 years NCB was £1250. £1100 aint bad mate :D

I know £1100s really good if it was right! I'll use them again when i have more time :) who u get 1250 with?
