Had a friend of a friend change the cambelt, tensioner & water pump this weekend on my 1.6 S. The car is now on 76K and to my knowledge it had not been changed before as it wasn't noted in the service book. Got the car back today to find out that the car has infact had a cambelt change at some point in the past as both belts were not OEM ones. The old water pump however was still the original one.
Ahh well even though the old belts had already been done before, it's good for me to know now that everything required for the cambelt change has been done (though I am £220 worse off now lol!)
Also decided to give the car a good wash when I got home Hopefully I should be doing the plugs on it next weekend, and then the oil & filter the next weekend if I can get the parts.
given the car some new rear brake pads today........lol you would think id be working on my old renault 5.i bought the rear piston wind back tool and what a god send that was.managed to get the piston to move and then fitted the tool kinda in place.at 1st it wasnt moving in but after a bit of a push and the tool kept 100% straight managed to budge piston even more done in the end though as typical fasion goes when i came to work on the other side simple 10 mins job lol old and new pads by the way
