Gillingham Dorset.
Hi guys
Was in a tesco near me and after trying to talk to a guy who has a yellow Ibiza cupra he said he had 240bhp in his. Said he had a 008p dv and I could see he had an exhaust on though not sure it was turbo back with decay but I didn't see any front mount ic! Also no cold air feed? Aren't they 150 standard?
Not trying to upset the Ibiza boys on here but really? 240??? He wasnt keen to speak to me! Apparently he said he was on cupranet ......

Fmi and ko3s for the 240bhp.
Above is correct as the mk4 has ko3s as standard the mk3 has the sad excuse for a turbo ko3

His is a mk3 cupra.....
He works there so may see him On the road. Then we will see what he has!
Thought I could smell the poop!
Surely you could see a front mount quite clearly on a mk3 anyway! I couldn't!!!!!
Il tell him when I bump into him next I have 600bhp! And I didn't even change my rods!!!!

only one thing to describe this

The ibiza cupra R has a ko3 not an s.

Ko3 max out at about 230 bhp
Ko3s around 250 max.

It isnt essential to have a frontmount if hes got a good airfeed to the standerd intercooler but he would struggle to get 240 without one unless theres other bigger mods.

You cant see my laguna fmic atall but its there ;) the bumper grilles hide it.

230bhp out of a k03 must be a very happy dyno, 200-210 max out of a fully mapped k03, 225-245 max out of a fully mapped k03s, a fmic, downpipe, sport cat/, good air filter and tip would be needed to reach the max of either turbo

1. The K03 (non-"s") will struggle to get much over 190bhp at the flywheel. With many supporting mods, maybe 210bhp, any more and it will break. (The smaller the turbo, the worse it heats up at high boost. The worse the heat, the quicker the bending or breaking of the turbo shaft.)

2. Large SMICs like Tyrolsport of BoostFactory may cool just as good as "the standard size for a FMIC" (600x300mm). The first dyno run is not influenced by the quality of cooling system. The next ones are. If the intake air heats itself, power drops quickly and detonations begin.

3. Neither can K03 "S" make any good without supporting mods, I know it for myself. The remap by itself with no mechanical mods raises the mid-range hp, the peak hp figure bogs itself down. It boils down to 2 things: heat and pressure drop. The first thing to go has to be the stock downpipe, the next one the crappy accordion TIP, the next one the ridiculously small stock SMIC. Only afterwards can be expected figures of 220-240bhp (and the safe figure should be near the lower end of the range, not the upper).

Theres ko3 cars on here that have hit around 225 so as i said its possible. My k03s has run 245, and theres a few little things more i could do to it. Its not impossible! But alot of people like to throw numbers around when in reality they aint got a clue!!

240bhp from k03? lol but no.. not realistic

ibiza cupra is 156bhp std k03 turbo
ibiza cupra r is 180bhp and k03 also

early leon cupra 180bhp k03
later leon cupra 180bhp k03s
leon cupra r 210/225 k04

k03s can occasionally get over the 230bhp with all the mods on a few cars I have seen.. most are 200-220bhp region typically
