Deff. better black,still think it's s bit chunky though IMHO....I like the steering column pod mount,safer there i feel.

I actually like it there... perfect location but the bezel definately needs to be black or a different gauge ...
Looked around for another gauge and found nothing better yet!

I'm taking mine out tonight to paint the bezel although I may just leave the gauge in the pod holder and paint the pod and bezel at same time so matches properly.
Just spoke to SWG who I got the vent pod from and they paint them with Halfords Satin Black apparently so that's what I'm going to paint the bezel with... will pick some up on way home.

Same as mine,superb IMHO,although mine is pod mounted,on top of steering column.
I just bought this one for a pillar pod, (as I didn't neccesarily want the same as everyone else, and I like the smoked look. Not a fan of the vent pod either JUST IMO).
I have the same issue with you regarding the bezel though. Be interested to see how you mask off the face, as I imagine it'll be tricky?

Black bezel with smoked look means it will be well hidden so good for security
Masking the gauge up will be easy but then I'm used to masking cars up... use some 3M 3434 blue tape as it will stretch for the circumference of the glass.
I'm doing mine tonight so will take some pictures.
That's the Halfords paint ... I have some in the garage but the can is nearly empty - great stuff!

I ordered this one off eBay last night, seems to match the dials and has the smoked look when off. Will be painting the bezel as well, let us know how you get on Mr OCD.
Agreed... being picky the paint is a little 'shinier' than I'd like but it will do for now. Not exactly ideal temps to be spray painting anyway!
