RUST 2005 seat leon tdi 1.9

Does anybody out there SEATS stance on rust?

I bought the car brand new in january 2006

I have had small imperfections/ rust spots when the car was only a couple of years old but they have not festered that badly but still noticable

The inside of the front wings (AT THE SIDE SKIRTS) suffered from stone chips which started to rust very early on in it life (Again after a couple of years) but kept it at bay with WAXOYL

There was rust on the rear wing just below the light where the body rolls under to the bumper on the passanger side, which i got fixed at my local seat garage in 2010 then they fixed it again less than a year later as they hadnt prepaired it properly, NO RUST THERE NOW.

Now the front wing at the top of the wheel arch is now really rusting badly where the paint is now ready to burst

I have maintained the car since new and i cant believe how any wee spots there are even in behind the front lights and where the wing meets the front bumper on both wings

I have just been using WAXOYL for the past few years just to try and keep it at bay/stop it spreading but it is getting ridiculious now

Has anybody else out there had this problem or found a solution to it.

I have had older/ more rust prone cars with less rust on them after 10 years than this car has after 4 to 5years

I think SEAT's corrosion guarantee is 12 years, not 100% sure though

I am unsure on the corrosion guarantee but i've had only one spot of rust from a large stone chip just above my windscreen although i've only owned the car since 2011 but it is still a 54 reg. so its 7 years old and only 1 spot of rust so far.

i have some stone chips on the bonnet that have not came to anything but full blown rust bubbles on unbroken paint

it is not more like 7 years now 2006-2013, if my math is not entirely bad

rusted through = 12 years corrosion guarantee
surface rust = 3 years paintwork warranty (i think its 3 years if i remember it right)

i had this to, a rust bubble on the front of the bonnet, after looking on the inside (under) i could see it where more rust there = rusted through from the inside, i got a new bonnet on the 12 years corrosion guarantee last winter, my car is 12years now.

The 4 to 5 years was when I got the first part of the rust fixed (may 2010) that was around the time when I started to notice blemishes in the bodywork with the car being 7 years old now

What channels did u go through to sort the defects

i just asked the local seat garage/dealer, he sayd that it was surface rust = 3 years paintwork warranty and my car was older then this.
i just pointed out that the rust was on both sides, as i could see the rust in between the structure plates with open bonnet around the "hook"and no hole in the paint on top of the bonnet, what to me looks like rusted through from the inside.
later he got back with answer from "seat" if it was rusted through, if he could try and see if there was a hole? hole as if he could push a very small screwdriver through, i sayd yes try it, and he did.
a week later new bonnet on the car.

strange. mines on a 04 and havent got one spec of rust on it. i have noticed a lot of damp mud and **** gather up behind the front two arch liners just towards the interior side which i now clean out regularly though but all good apart from that.?

Its now starting to look really tatty, i will contact a local dealer or even seat uk and see what they say
