It will the new pipe will expand with the heat, same with milteks ect too.

Beazy, have fun :) looking forward to seeing the results. My mate in his vxr enjoys losing to me on a regular basis :D

i just never expected it from a resonator delete. pfft...corsas don't stand a chance...mate in his cooper s gets left for dust too.

I should arrive there with around 20ish litres of fuel at most, car will be set to stock mode for the first few runs then it's going into 98 to destroy some stage 1/2 CVXR's :D

Aiming for very very low 14's or high 13's. Weather is supposed to be dry so hopefully I can get some traction

Why you running it in stock mode? just to get some direct comparisons?

Standard over a 1/4 a corsa is guna have a hard time pulling back a lead after the DSG effect

lightweight battery next ;)

Another Cupra owner is going and he's completely standard so it's more to race him on slightly uneven terms rather than completely uneven

Going to see how close I can get to 14.5 in stock mode. Most stage 2/3 Corsas should run around 14.3/4 at Crail so I'm hopeful that I don't come across any hybrid turbo ones :(

Very marginal gains, my car only gets stripped 3 or 4 times a year so it's not really worth it. Plus I have a feeling our winters up here would kill it...

Is 14.5 the fastest stock time?

Dale with the ITG on and stock map did 14.7/8 I think to my 14.1

Thats true, scotland isnt the easiest place to be at times. At what point does something become "un"marginal ? ;)

I tend to tell people Its stripped because cadwell this or cadwell that, but I havnt had them in for about 5months straight, I suspect I wont put them back in either. Keep thinking of just carpetting the rear in some nice plush rug for the 3 sunny days we will get this year and be able to go out and enjoy the country lol

So I can definitely confirm that this is the best £50 I've ever spent... I've been running about with the rear interior out due to being at crail and there is a pretty decent drone out of it at cruising speeds but it's not something I'm going to hear once everything is back in.

Under about half throttle accelerations up through the gears you do get some pretty decent dsg farts and pops. On the coast down at lights/junctions you get the occasional pops as well. Changing manually I can get it to pop pretty loudly on 1 - 2, 2 - 3 & 3 - 4 shifts but it's a fine art getting it just right. It's only 48h so I'm expecting it to get better with age.

Remember when that white Cupra put about 10 car lengths on you once he finally got traction :p

i've found if your pretty heavy on the throttle from about 2800 revs, then change up at about 4000, 4200 you will hear the best pops.

I'm booking in for a sports cat from c+c tomorrow, might get a louder back box to replace the milltek one while its in. If you'd heard Donald's on Saturday you'd understand why lol! Boxless and sports cat sounds unbelievably good!

Downpipe aswell? I'd be tempted to keep the backbox though just to keep the drone down. Can imagine it being a bit unsociable...

Beaxy/byerss what times did you guys get? You opened a thread here or on zsoc?

Jay

It was 3C with a combo of rain/snow throughout the day so the track never got a chance to dry out at any point. Probably somewhere in the low 15's at 95 - 98mph. I had zero traction below 70mph, TC didn't stop flashing until I went into 4th :( There will probably be videos posted up in the Vauxfail thread on ZSOC.

when i had my centre silencer removed the guy suggested he build me up a new back box. quote £180 for it if i remember! i still need to decide what to do though, custom...or go down to blueflame and get them to design me one.

Just a word of caution people, a guy i work with had this done 9 months ago. His turbo has just completely destroyed itself and possibly taken the engine with it as some of the bits from the turbo have gone in the inlet system.

SEAT and an independent VW specialist have said the turbo failed due to lack of pressure in the exhaust system.

SEAT have voided his warranty and he is looking at 6K to have a new engine and turbo from SEAT. Last time I spoke to him he was looking around for an alternative.

I am not trying to upset anyone here but I would feel bad myself if this happend to anyone here and I hadn't warned anyone when I had the chance.

I am no mechanic at all but surely removing a silencer isn't going to make that much of a difference to back pressure in comparison to a high flow cat (full milltek) or no cat all which a lot of cars are running with no problems
