Havent got a gauage but does your turbo have a oil feed restrictor? Seemed to be a common fault with old big turbo setups from what i read when looking to do mine? Maybe need to speak to alex or bill get a quicker and better response your cars especially with your setup

from what i can gather that would be a constant loss of oil pressure or on boost. mine drops between 2800-3000 even when droping down the revs without being on the throttle. makes it hard to sit at 70 on the moterway because thats where it drops. its fine all the rest of the rev range

Check the earthing of you gauge. I run a oil pressure gauge on my Cupra. Generally sits between 60-80psi when cold the once warmed up sitting on idle can drop to 20-30. Whilst driving generally at between 45-80+ depending on load.

If it is showing pressure throughout the whole rev range apart from when coming onto boost check your oil level could be slightly low.

I would have thought that its normal for the pressure to drop when the engine isn't under load I.e when changing gear hence why it raises when put the engine under load again

It doest mater if I'm foot to the floor half throttle or off the throttle completly when the revs are in between 2800-3000rpm its drops a lot and is speradic only for that 200rpm. I'm sure it never used to

load is'nt relevant to oil pressure, revs are... pump is crank speed driven

mechanical gauge or electrical sender type? gauge ok?

its not normal for a dip at those revs no..

The gauge is electric. Its strange because like you said the pump is driven from a chain off the crank so should not dip sudenly like this. The only thing I can put it down to mabey is from relocating my battrey to the boot. Mabey has messed up the current and is makeing it do this. And sorry for previous answer I do have a oil restrictor
