One thing that had been really bugging me since owning my car from last November has been the gear stick gaiter.

Finally after buying it back in March, i got around to fitting it now that i finished my last uni exam (graduation soon!).

I bought the gaiter off ebay, black leather with red stitch for a decent price, £8 or something so couldnt fault it!

Well it had been sitting in my bedroom for the past 2 or more months and finally went and did it today... and what a difference.

It was a bitch of a potch, the seat collar that holds the old gaiter in place wouldnt fit back on due to the thickness in the leather but improvised and used 2 jubilee clips, one to hold the gear knob on the stick and another to hold the gaiter on.

Literally my only complaint would be that the leather is a little thick but im sure the company will address that eventually if they get told (they asked for a photo from myself as its the first time they made one for an mk1).

So here are the before and after photo's :)

As you can see its a great improvement and goes with the colour of my car :p i love matching stuff!

Thought id share my experience with u guys anyway :)

Any instructions on removal & re-fitting ????

Check the guide that Paul linked you too, There is a little black collar that holds the original gaiter on, but because the leather was a little thick from the replacement gaiter i got rid of it and used a jubilee clip :)

Hi yea lookin good what a difference!!! allways bother'd me the gaiter not fitting in the coller seen a few wi the gaiter just left loose!!what company is it?

Yeah its a great difference!

Here is the link to their company: http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/topgaiters?ssPageName=ADME:X:CEM:GB:1181

And the specific gaiter i got: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/280416006553

They didnt provide the plastic surround but it i removed the old gaiter and just re-used the plastic, quite easy to do (besides all the staples that someone obviously had a go at fastening it before lol).

I should have made a guide for it.
