It's awkward with working shifts and communicating via pm but I do wonder if I'm going to get fobbed off!!

Yes, all is fine, compared the changes to our base map and 5 other 170cr tunes we have done and its all well within spec.

Is it only at idle and pulling away?

I call. Really you need to get Mark on the line. He's a little more "customer savvy". While you want to get Dave to actually read the logs/ do the work

Cheers. Yeah worth a log. I still want to log my EGTs just to make sure. Especially as now I can pull all the way to 5k rpm and beyond. Need to make sure I'm not frying the engine.

What do you mean crackling off idle? Sounds odd.

I have a 90 bhp tdi cordoba with an EGT probe and gauge fitted. I noticed that when pushed hard and up past the peak power point that the temp would climb noticeably to substantially in line with the acceleration dropping off. A sign of the turbo working hard to supply an air flow that it's not capable of delivering. Definitely worth keeping an eye on.

Yeah emails are a bit hopeless sometimes it seems.
I have to admit it seems a bit hit/mis with them, but I can't complain about the service I've had.

Any of the experienced boys have any comment?

To me they both sound alright, after listening many times.

Could it be as simple as a different fuel/oil?

Kev, I just run Jet diesel, and my car is definitely happiest on that. Worth a try?

Granted....each engine is different

I know each engine is different but I'm extremely disappointed in the lack if response from my tuner which makes me worse.
The only other thing shnazzle is your cars mapped by the same people!
I may need to get a video of a standard one.

One thing though...my engine note didn't change at all after remap.

I noticed after driving 100 yards!
When I speak to them tomorrow if they are helpful and willing to do something I'll try and meet up to let you hear it first.

One good thing; there's a good chance Dave left your ECU unlocked...he did with mine. So that saves cash for another remap hehe. My second map just went via OBD

On this mate I've just logged my car and boost pressure is 2601!!!

Haha. Did you log the requested as well? That'll show that the map is trying to pull more boost than the MAP can take. Does it flatline at 2601 for a while?

I've spoke with mark a few times today and forwarded some logs and await feedback.
They have offered to return the car to stock to see if it cures my problem and if so then work with the software to cure it.

Good. I expected no less based on how they were with me.
Hopefully you can get it sorted in a short visit down once it's sorted.

How close are you to there?

Cool. Still doesn't really address the noise through. A bit surprised you're running into these issues at stg1 settings though.

I'm about 20 mins away when at work. 40ish from home.
