Thats definately area related mate, Im 25, 6yrs no claims and mine is a 1.9TDi, but I guess its all my mods declared causing a hike in the price as Im sure if not modded I could have insurance for around £500ish

100% area related. If I lived in Liverpool permanently then my insurance would be 3 times the price.

Mine is £830 at 19 with 2 years NCB, lowered suspension is declared.

Have you added more experienced drivers on for example? That brings my policy down loads and there isn't really a downside to doing it.

Worth trying Sky insurance, they've covered me fully comp, ALL mods declared for £500 for the year.:thumbup:

That's not a bad quote.

I need to look soon as well. Doubt I'll be able to stay with Greenlight as I can't afford the lump sum and they dont do monthly. GUTTED!! They've easily been the best insurer ever. :(

Yeah, Greenlight are ace but couldn't beat Sky this year for me. I've chosen monthly payments! ;)

Greenlight and Sky are on the cards too and will be giving them a call too on Friday. As alzak said above I dont know how younger drivers with less exp and NCB get way cheaper quotes on higher performance cars. I understand the older owners though. That quote from admiral is with having my dad as 2nd driver too

@Lee I understand the Birmingham thing but my postcode/area is on the outskirts of the city compared to the B11 etc which I know is all High risk
