I'm visiting them to flash to standard to compare engine noise.
When I logged it and forwarded them on I mentioned to Mark that the boost pressure seems all over the place.
Sometimes it boosts way less than requested and others its way above requested.
I'm hoping that once standard I can point out the difference.

Kev, how did this end up today?

Yeah.
Let it go on the record that I won't be going back and I shan't mention their name again.

I got away lucky once but I'm not going to tempt fate.

Now I want to do a log run on my car to make sure all is ok. Max paranoia mode. It runs absolutely peachy and brutally quick, but...what's happening in the background that I don't know of?

Well after spending nearly 5 hours pressure testing and removing rigid pipes to the turbo and throttle body to test I can confirm I don't have a boost leak!!!
Suppose next thing will be to put it back to standard by vw and learn from experience I think.

It'll have been your waste gate permanently open due to the dodgy settings.
Still have no clue why they didn't take my map as a basis for yours.

Absolute useless idiots

Waiting on vw giving me a quote to flash it back to standard.
Wish I'd left it in the first place.
Looks like the wife was right again with the "why do need to alter it speech"

I thought someone had written on here that the dealers automatically put on a stock map when you take it in for anything that requires a plugin. And set a flag to say you're a dirty scoundrel for having a mapped car.
Granted you probably don't want to wait until the next service.

Missus was NOT right!! Just wrong person to do the map :)

Feel shi1t for ya mate. I hope you didn't end up there on my word :(
So anybody else..please don't go there!! I was lucky

Vw didn't get back to me today.
My boost noise isn't pipework or intercooler so now I'm fearing something else has happened.
I do wonder what my exhaust gas temps were as my oil temp was pretty high

It seems after loads if research the cr170 engine is prone to the turbo actuator diaphram failing causing boost issues.
Wonder if it would cause my issues?
Going to check tomorrow.

Hmm... That would be err...good news?

I guess my earlier statement makes sense that it was already on the way out and the new map pushed it over the edge. Who knows... I wasn't far off with the waste gate :)

Well its not that!
Checked it this morning and the vacuum side works perfectly.
Also checked the egr side too.
That puts it back to software.
I logged it last night and it doesn't make requested boost pressure until 2300 rpm

Just spoke with vw who want £72 to flash to standard.
This just gets better and better.

I think your next job will be to get independent proof that the map Sedox put on is faulty. Therefore, you can claim cash back. And have the backup for legal action.

What was your symptoms when you had your maf problem?

Wasn't MAF but MAP.

The only symptoms I had was that at certain revs it was requesting more boost than the MAP could read. So I would get to about 4100rpm in 4th, and the car would very noticeably lose power. And the pick up power suddenly, and then go flat again, etc etc.

This was the car requesting good boost and pulling, hitting the limiter and dropping, then requesting again and pulling, then hitting the limiter again...over and over.

So no noises or anything. Car pulls much more uniform now and much smoother. 1st and 2nd have eased off on the boost a bit (load, no gear-related). And I've also noticed quite a bit less smoke.

Again, no change in noise since the new map or since stock

I thought I read somewhere where you has a maf problem and it was a fuse that was all?
Anyway tried unplugging the maf today and the car runs the same so its not that.
Unbolted the turbo outlet today and ordered a new seal for that tomorrow and a little short hose which has a couple of little nicks in it.
I'll try that in the morning before I go on holiday for the weekend. (In here car)

Oh right that! Yeah that was just a fuse. No real consequences otherwise.
An error code and that was it. It ran a bit richer.

Well got my car sorted today!!!!!

Went to konzept tuning at Glasgow and had the car flashed to standard and oh boy I forgot how smooth my car used to be.
The car revved much better and sounded so so quiet.
On road test I instantly noticed the drivability was back to what it used to be.
Next step was Revo software installed, what can I say my god what a difference.
Silky smooth quiet and so much more power.
Totally proves my car wasn't at fault

Nice one!!
Well jealous now. Glad you got it sorted mate

Guess we've all learned; buy Sedox, buy twice.

Was Revo just able to be put on via OBD2?

...going to contact Revo to see what options I have for a comparison and possible switch-over.
