Fair enough, I would imagine that due to the fact it is an optional upgrade that the electrics are put in place already. So i was hoping it would be a case of disconnecting a few plugs and changing over the wheel.
That used to be the case, on older cars you would offten find you could add things from models further up the range, as the wiring and plugs would be there, not any more, the loom would be made for the bits your car wascs speced with and no more
Even if you were to add in all the wires etc, it still would not work as you then need to have the car coded to let it know these bits have been added
As rodger 7248 said, if you don't know what you're doing its not a good idea to play around with airbags etc
That said, if you apply basic saftey rules they are perfectly safe to remove and handle
I've set off a few, on purpose I should add, I remember thinking "I'm not sure I'd wand that going of in my face"

Although it was not fixed to anything and went 20 feet in the air, so it wasn't quite the way car makers ment for it to go off
