2003 1.2 Clio as my first car, nothing but problems with it. Completely put me off economy petrols.

Next off I bought a 2001 1.9 SDI (Slowest diesel invented) Mk4 Golf. I virtually destroyed this car. :( (Doesn't help that the roads in Northern Ireland are absolute scrap)

While I had the Golf I bought a 2001 Peugeot 306 HDI. The turbo was screwed out of this and the springs were cut. (This is completely normal in Northern Ireland, almost all 306's have smoke pouring out of them and cut springs, it's a culchie thing really.)

Drove my mums 2004 Fabia TDI for a while. Seriously underrated cars.

Now I have my Leon. I'm only 18 and I'm paying 2k on my mums name, 3rd party for a 110 TDI. Insurance in NI is a joke, especially for young drivers. was 2.5k on an SDI, they're too slow to crash, seriously

For the last 3+ years my daily driver has been a 2003 Porsche 911 Carrera. :p

Now sold and replaced with a 2009 Leon 1.4TSI Sport (first child on the way). I think at the very least I'll need a remap to keep me entertained... :D

Comical really, but as I changed jobs in January and no longer need a car (get the train to work or work from home now) I thought I may as well sell the 911, as I just wasn't using it. Then when the baby arrives in a few months it'd get even less use as we couldn't go out in it as a family (a backward-facing child-seat only fits in the front seat, meaning no room for the wife), so it has been sold. :(

It's not just NI, it's everywhere! My insurance when I passed at 17 was £3400 on a 1.2 clio, that was fully comp in my own name. Two years on at 19, with 2 years NCB I'm now insuring a 2011 2.0TDi CR FR170 fully comp in my own name for £830 with mods too! The sooner you earn your no claims, the better.

Took my Leon in for its service in July.

I was given an Ibiza ST as a courtesy car. 7 speed automatic.

Got in it and it was a rocket ship I thoght it was a 1.8tsi.

I was shocked when I was told it was a 1.2tsi. The thing didnt half shift!!!

Th vw groups range seems to be the best with nippy small engines! take for instance Nissan their qashqai is a big car and they put a little engine in it and when you want to set off its like theirs a donkey under the bonnet not a horse in sight.
