Hi all,

I am finally biting the bullet and getting my LCR remapped next Saturday.

I have driven the car without a remap for about a year with the following upgrades:

3" turbo back cobrasport exhaust with sportscat
SFS TIP
Performance panel filter
Awesome 2.0 TFSI coilpacks
Forge 007p diverter
Front mount intercooler

Also has tt strut brace
r32 front arb
neuspeed 25mm rear arb
bilstein b12s all round
uprated bushed

My questions are:
Am I going to notice a massive difference between what it is like now and remapped?
Am I going to lose reliability as the car doesn't miss a beat at the moment.
Due to having all of supporting mods for stage 2 should I be getting them to take me to stage 2?

You with goodies already installedll notice an immense amount of difference as you already haveit all.The only way you will lose reliability is if you drive like a maniac due to having a lot more power, and finally as you say you have all the goodies for Stage 2 you could easily get a stage 2 map on it IMO

Erm YES.... Put a plastic cover on the drivers seat just incase :D

You will love it. You can save up for a new diff and clutch now

LOL, so you have all seen the spec I have, what is the next limiting factor in terms of releasing more power?

I would ideally be looking at getting new rods, but there doesn't seem to be much information on companies that will do this and the rough prices? In the Devon area?

You should consider Volkscraft in Exeter if you are open to other mappers. Matt down there is really good and will SAFELY get the best out of your car. I assume you are running V-power or similar as the tuners will suggest a few tanks for adjustment before mapping.

I am running stage one form Matt at 260 and drivability is nice.

Ok so I am back from the remap. Was impressed with the service, however on the way home the car has developed 2 faults. May or may not be related to the remap.
Firstly, every so often the battery light flashes up for about 3 seconds and then goes away for about 10 minutes. I have since driven the car for about another hour after and it hasnt done it again. Alternator?

Secondly, putting my foot flat to the floor in any gear when coming on boost at approx 2500-3000rpm I get what sounds a bit like an air leak. However I dont think it is an air leak. Have checked hoses and nothing obvious and after 3000rpm the noise goes completely. The noise is in the exact area where my forge 007 valve is. It is quite old (6 years) Could this have failed? Be leaking? Or is there something else obvious I may have missed?

I'd get a smoke test done and get a service kit from forge for the 007p if it was me......
