Ok so I am back from the remap. Was impressed with the service, however on the way home the car has developed 2 faults. May or may not be related to the remap.
Firstly, every so often the battery light flashes up for about 3 seconds and then goes away for about 10 minutes. I have since driven the car for about another hour after and it hasnt done it again. Alternator?

Secondly, putting my foot flat to the floor in any gear when coming on boost at approx 2500-3000rpm I get what sounds a bit like an air leak. However I dont think it is an air leak. Have checked hoses and nothing obvious and after 3000rpm the noise goes completely. The noise is in the exact area where my forge 007 valve is. It is quite old (6 years) Could this have failed? Be leaking? Or is there something else obvious I may have missed?

I get this noise that you are on about, if put foot dwn from 2k-3k will make a whooshinng sound then when its hits 3k will dye of and then just keep pulling with no sound! :/ my cupra r is also quite fluffy below 3k when just on throttle lightly! Dont no if its had bad remap in past or what.
 
How do you know what dump valve is which? When i got my lcr i noticed when i got it back home that it has a forge one on, guesing its the 007 one but how to be sure? Cause i want to service it after reading this thread!

I have bought a service kit, as mine hasnt been done in at least 4 years. I have also bought the next stage spring up to see if that cures it. Obviously I will service it first to see if just that cures it
 
Just had a look on ebay and the fmc007p one looks exactly the same as mine.
You will have to let us know how it goes and if it sorts the problem out!
And how easy of a job it was as this is my first turbo car so not much experience with them,

i will be doing it Sunday evening. Would have liked to have done it sooner but I have a 200 mile trip on Saturday that the car has to be working for so dont want to risk fiddling with anything before then
 
Haha yh dont blame you, would be good to know if it does cure it, cus ive been thinkin of gettin new remap cause i faught it could of had a **** one in the past. So if its just the dv tht needs a service, will be happy days :)
Where did you get ya service kit from mate and how much?
 
my thoughts exactly. Failing that I wasnt sure if it was a leaking TIP. But I am probably 95% convinced its the dumpvalve after having a listen yesterday
 
Just had a look, two jublie clips to come of and then i presume the pipe that goes into the top just puls out?
 
Doesn't sound like a custom map, normally a mapper would test the obvious and make sure the cars ok before the map, a custom map makes a big difference over generic, i had a generic stage 2 map from amd on my old cupra r, it made 279bhp and 3001b torque, ive just bought an lcr with the same mods, but a custom map from jabbasport and it makes 259bhp and 3251b torque, its definately a lot more livelier than my first one
