Just had some giant bell**d take my wing mirror off. I had right away and someone decided he rules the road in his 59 plate focus. Knowing he had done wrong he's done one . As usual his managed to stay on . Did manage to catch him up and follow him home . Nice bloke told me to fook off and to prove it.
My question now is ....... I've now borrowed a 59 plate drivers wing mirror . Anyone know how I can fit this onto my leon ?

Write him a lovely letter. On his bonnet. With brake fluid.

Dear co*k

Would you like to buy a wing mirror for your piece if sh*t? I've noticed your one missing . It's the same colour as yours with a tiny bit I imperial blue paint on it . I can also fit it free of charge for you with my nail gun !

How's that ?

should of rang the old bill. there must of been paint/damage from the impact on both of your cars so police would be inclined to believe you and not him. driving away from the scene of an accident can get you in big trouble which would get his back up more than you ranting about it mate

Had this before. Its a 50 / 50 with this . He could say he was already passing the parked cars on his side when I came along . Happened to my new van few months ago. Old bill said its a very grey area.

true, but he didnt stop which in itself is an offence. the police should pursue him for driving away from the scene of an accident. it was only because you chased after him that you was able to confront him even then he told you to F**k off.
if the blame was to fall on both of you this doesnt take away the fact his drove away and even after confronting him told you to do one.
from where i see it his done two things wrong here: driving away from the scene of an accident and refusing to provide insurance details both of which are a requirement under road traffic law

I see what your saying. In some senses your right. Would I gain from it? So may ways people get away with things by fibbing . Law just isn't the same no more . Hes prob making a claim for whip lash right now and that it was my fault. Unless you have a camera on board to prove things , then they always wriggle out of it.

should of rang the old bill

This

Regardless of what he might be upto with excuses all ready a knock at the door from the old bill might change that

Cos it never happened before don't mean it will again, I'd still make a call even if you think its just hassle

Muppets need to learn sometimes

you would gain by getting a inconsiderate arsehole shafted by the old bill lol. mm thats another thing. you could be right and his sitting at home making a insurance claim against you. the sensible thing to do would be to report it to the police to cover yourself, this way you look like you have nothing to hide. but like i said before a certain 59 plate focus is now missing a wing mirror and you could end up being prosecuted instead for criminal damage. if it was me i would probably just wait in the hope that the arsehole driver will just leave it be. he took your mirror off you took his now your even lol

Well I've managed to clip the plastic bit back on mine . Seems to have just popped off . Someone had picked it up and put it on the pavement . Glass is gone , but they are only a couple of £££ from gsf. Need to have a better look in the morning .
As for nob jockey ........ I may run his mirror over a few times then post him it. Did feel better for
' borrowing ' his mirror. Not the answer really , but always heat of the moment .

I've been lucky that is only going to cost me a few £££ to fix. His........ Well , I bet they aren't cheap either :)

To be honest serves him right. I probably would of done the same but ringing the police before you went Rambo would of been better and potentially worse for him lol

Haha you've gotta love a bit of vigilantism! You tried to do the right thing but he weren't up for it so now he is gonna have to pay the price for being an arsehole. I bet he'll think twice next time. Well played

I would have done exactly the same, I have no confidence in the law with these situations at all. I have had a few positions like this in the past. Even cameras don't prove much to the law these days. 'Wasn't me driving the car officer' etc...

IMO you would have got no justice or compensation from the law. He absolutely got what he deserved with your resolution, leave it at that.

Standard procedure - take pics of the scene (where you were and where he was). You have his car details. Pass them to your insurance company.

Report it to the police as a 'fail to stop' road accident. You'll need to fill out the paperwork to make the allegations 'official' - then they can investigate it for you.

You don't HAVE to give your insurance details at the scene of an accident (as a lot of people don't know their policy number, etc), but minimum should be name, tel no and reg details.

As stated above, this fella could be instigating a claim against you now, saying you were to blame. I'd get my blow in first personally. No doubt it's a company car and he can claim it through his work. My two penneth.....
