Folks - I just drove my 2.0TDi FR back from town (took ~10 minutes) and when I parked up and switched off the engine the radiator fan could still be heard as I walked away from the car so I came back and waited for a few seconds and it didn't stop. Popped the bonnet to have a look and waited a good 10 minutes before it turned off of its own accord.

Temperature outside is about 3 degrees and having put the key back in to check the coolant and oil temps they were 90 degrees and 71 degrees respectively..

Anything to worry about? It hasn't done it before.

Cheers :)

This is a very important subject for me and would like to ask you guys if the Leon has a DPF light that turns on if there are DPF issues?
And second question: does the DPF regeneration require to drive the car at a certain speed for a certain amount of time and in a certain GEAR? please tell me more if yes.

20 mins or more... It's all about getting the exhaust hot, if your normal journey has some miles on A roads or motorway then there's no need...

I drove 1500 miles in 4 days, but mostly changing gears like the car told me to (6th gear at 50 mph), etc., and did not get the speed over 60-70 mph.
But my drive is mostly (5 days a week) rush hour city jam traffic, so I will try to change gear at at least 2500 RPMs and have some B roads fun in the weekend to let the DPF regen.

Should be OK, right?

The whole DPF issue puts me off a diesel. I do about 300 miles every other week and on the alternate week I do about 100 miles in the week.

The 300mile week is 30 miles to and then from work with a mixture of traffic and motorway + what ever driving I need to do in the evening.
The shorter week is a 6 mile trip in the morning then 6 miles home in the afternoon + what ever driving I need to do in the evening.

Im guessing i'd be better sticking to petrol?
